It's been roughly five years since Crystal had joined Akatsuki. Over the years, they were doing trial and error with Edo Tensei, just trying to figure out how to use it, and the preparations for the Edo Tensei summoning was complete and chances of success were finally high. In return, Crystal had fulfilled her task in assisting him in his work. While doing so, she helped Sasori create his current puppet body with the help of future technology. They both sat in a clearing outside one of the many hideouts the Akatsuki had. A scroll was placed on the ground and Crystal had hesitantly placed the hand of her creator onto the sheet. Sasori then walked up to the scroll and did the hand signs and summoned her creator.
At first nothing happened so they were slightly confused and were trying to think about what could possibly have gone wrong when two of the most brilliant minds in the Akatsuki had worked together on this project. To be honest, at that moment, Sasori had felt a slight bit relieved that the summoning didn't work. This was because, over the years that they both knew each other, he had began to realise that he had fallen for her and her gentle smile that she only showed to him. But just when he got his hopes up, a cloud of smoke exploded from the sacrifice and blew them back slightly.
"And where would this place be?" A monotone voice said in wonder as the smoke began to clear. "It feels like Edo Tensei, meaning that I died for real, again." The voice was followed by a soft chuckle. "Now I sound like Chiyo-baasama."
'Don't tell me her creator is actually...' Sasori said in his mind as he caught glimpses of all the key details of her creator. Red hair, brown eyes, the same monotone face... There wasn't a doubt that her creator was...
"Sasori-niisama!" Crystal cried as she hugged what seemed like a futuristic version of Sasori that wore clothing that was similar to what Crystal was wearing when he first met her.
"Crystal?" He said in shock as he hugged her back but not as tightly as she was. "What happened? I thought I died saving you?"
"I travelled back in time using your time machine to find a way to bring you back," she answered with a smile.
"You did what?" He snapped. "You must go back now. Before you meet with-" he paused in shock and fear when he saw the Sasori of the past watching the both of them. "Now we're doomed," he muttered."So you're saying that if I had made contact with someone from the past, I can never go back to the future?" Crystal summarised whatever the future Sasori had explained to her.
"That's right, meaning you're going to be stuck here for the rest of your life," future Sasori replied.
"And let me make this clear, I was killed in a battle and my puppet form was left behind along with my core and that allowed people from the future to revive me?" Past Sasori said, still in shock at seeing his future self.
"Yes..." the future answered for what seemed like the thousandth time that morning. "But what interests me is why you would want to revive me."
"When your only gentle and kind brother figure dies and leaves you alone with your nasty nineteen older siblings I think you would understand why I did what I did."
"Makes sense." Future Sasori sighed. "In any case, now that you're in the past, you won't have to worry about seeing them anymore so I will just be taking my leave now. Besides, now that had gone and changed the past, you probably won't even be created in the future. Thus, you won't be meeting your nineteen older siblings. I know you are going to be in capable hands. After all, he is the one that ended up creating you." He said gesturing to the past Sasori who looked bothered by the news in so many ways.
"Crystal," Sasori said when the other had returned to the world of the dead. "Are you going to leave me now?"
"Why would I?"
"You already fulfilled your promise to me five years ago and vise versa. You are free to go wherever you want in this current time, learn new things and hopefully live a happy life."
"I won't do that because I hadn't realised it until last year... but I like you and I want to stay with you," Crystal said as she smiled at Sasori with the same smile she would give him everyday. The same close-eyed smile. Silently, Sasori leaned closer to her and pressed his lips onto hers to which she flinched in shock at first but relaxed and kissed back.
When they pulled away, Sasori whispered softly into her ears the four words that brought their relationship to the next level. "Please be my girlfriend."
