When we pull up at the venue we find a park right near where we knew all the band members parked as it was close to the back door.
We check the time and it's only 12:30, it's still a little early to be waiting at the door so we quickly but carefully do our makeup which was difficult as we only had the rearview mirror and the mirror on the back of the sun visor to work with.
Just as we finish we notice 2 cars pulling up, one on either side of us, on Shari's side was a purple van and on my side was a blue station wagon.
Shari looks out the window, then suddenly her phone goes off, and I know immediately it's a tweet from Callum because she gets a stupid grin on her face, she then freaks out, looks back out the window, then ducks.
"What the hell Shari? It's not like I needed eardrums anyway.." I say as she shows me her phone.
What I see makes me laugh out loud, it was indeed a tweet from Callum, saying that he had just pulled into the carpark next to a blue Micra, and to come say hey when she gets to the venue.
All of a sudden Shari sits up, looks at me and starts laughing, i start to question her sanity when I feel my car door open and hear my name. I turn around in my seat and nearly have a heart attack when I see the source of the voice, it's George the drummer from All Year Round.
I turn back to slap Shari for not warning me about George but she's not there.
"Did you see where she went?" I ask George turned back around to face him.
"Pretty sure she's talking to Callum," he said pointing in the direction of the purple van.
"She's actually speaking to him without me with her, I'm impressed and surprised because normally she can't read the tweets from him without turning into a fangirling mess," I say sharing my inner monologue with George.
"Have they got a thing going on or something? I've seen the tweets they send and I would actually be shocked if they didn't," he said with a brief laugh.
After a few minutes chatting I got out of the car and gave George a hug, a hug that felt like it lasted forever and not long enough all at once.
When I let go it almost felt like he didn't want me to, but I had to go check on Shari and see if she was ok.
I walked over to the van and found the door open and her sitting in the back chatting with Callum and his best mate Lewis.
I felt a presence beside me and realised that George had followed me, we jump in the van and join in the conversation and we can also very clearly see that Shari is nervous because every time Callum spoke to her she just smiled and nodded.
Clearly getting bored with where the conversation was going George nudged me and told me he'll be back in a minute and jumped out of the van.
A few seconds pass and he appears at the door of the van again with his skateboard.
"You can't sit still for long can you ninja George?" I say jokingly to him, to which he responds with a cheeky wink and sticking out of his tongue and skates off leaving me shaking my head in amusement.
Callum and Lewis see George skating around the carpark and grab their boards and exit the van to join him, which left Shari and I to watch them fall of their boards as in true male fashion they were showing off to us and trying to one up each other.
