"What do you mean you saw him with another woman?" My heart isn't even existent at this point. It's torn apart, completely obliterated. My fiancé is cheating on me while I'm away for work? Am I dreaming? Is this really happening?
"Willow, I was walking by the restaurant and I saw Justin and her. For now, I'll name her Barbie because that's what she looked like. He had his hand on hers, I could tell he was sweet talking her."
"Chanel... it can't be. I mean, he proposed and our wedding is on the way."
There's a long silence on the line. "I know, bestie, but this is the truth. Telling you is hard, it kills me but I would rather tell you now rather than wait until you are married. He isn't as good as you think he is."
"I'm so far from home right now. I want to confront him about this and see what he has to say."
"Wait until you're home. It's easy to lie on the phone. Face him, it's worth the wait."
"Okay," I say with a breaking voice. My throat is so tight from trying not to cry that words can't come out loud enough.
I hang up and start crying in the hall of the hotel. The elevator to my room can't come fast enough. I want to leave, hide and cry all the tears I contain. "Come on, come on." I keep pressing on the damn button. My life is falling apart and there's nothing I can do about it.
Once in my room, I curl up on my bed and cry some more. Who is she? Why is he doing this to me? So many questions I don't have answers to. It isn't because I'm not giving him what he needs. I do everything I can to please him. Perhaps I'm doing too much and now he's bored. Oh God. This is a nightmare. Chanel is right though. I should confront him when I get back home. Lying when we're face to face is harder than on the phone. His reaction will tell if he cheated or not.
