"ok, Gray loves you" Lucy finally told him what they had been talking about and Lucy was right, it was better for him not to know.
"I have to go see him" he tried to run but Lucy summoned her clock spirit and soon he was caged up.
"let me go Lucy, the boy said in a very annoyed tone" the clock spoke.
"you said you wouldn't leave me" Lucy was so calm it was slightly creepy.
"but I have to, the boy repeated" he replied as Natsu smashed his hands on the glass of the clock trying to get out.
"sorry no can do" Lucy wasn't going to let him out any time soon.
"ok you win, I'll stay with you, the boy sighed" Lucy let him out and ran up to him to give him a hug, her arms wrapped around the pinkette's neck but he didn't return the gesture, he wanted Gray.
It was the party tomorrow and Natsu was forced to take Lucy, who had been keeping a close eye on him, she was dressed in a long, ruby red dress that was caked in glitter, her hair was tied up in a fancy way and she wore jewellery that was, apparently, made out of real gold, this would make any man weak at the knees but not Natsu, there was only one person for him and it wasn't Lucy.
They had danced and had 'fun' all night, just like Lucy had wanted, and they even shared a kiss when the clock struck twelve but it wasn't what Natsu wanted, Happy could tell but the Dragon slayer didn't have time to say anything as he was dragged away to dance to another slow song with Lucy.

"what do you think?" Lucy twirled around in a pink knee long skirt, her and Natsu were shopping, Lucy was having he time of her life she was completely oblivious to the sadness she was causing.
"mm, yeah" Natsu didn't even bother to look up at her but it's not like she noticed anyway, she was so absorbed in her looks. Natsu was deep in thought he was devising a plan to get to Gray. He wanted to fully gain her trust, then say he's going to buy her a gift and that it has to be a surprise and then when he goes out of the house instead of going to the shop he goes to Gray's house. "perfect!" he said smiling.
Lucy turned around "well if you like it that much I'll buy it" she smiled and spread her arms open to hug him, reluctantly he hugged her back.
Time to put my plan into action Natsu thought to himself as they walked through the front door of Lucy's house "hey, Luce, I need to go down to the shop" he smiled adorably hoping that it was enough to make her let him go.
"WHY?!" Lucy demanded.
"Well I want to get you something" he tried his best to make it sound genuine "and it has to be a surprise" he added quickly before she could offer to go with him.
"you know, you could give me something even better than what you have in mind" she sat down on her bed and started slowly taking off her boots and socks, Natsu knew what she wanted but he really couldn't give it to her, he started to panic what do I do? he asked trying not to look at Lucy taking off her top. Quickly he ran out of the door and down the street towards Gray's house, Lucy wasn't going to catch up with him.

Gray heard a knock on the door, he didn't rush to get it, it was probably just one of his guild mates checking up on him. When he opened the door he wasn't surprised at all to see Natsu, so he went back to his sofa and carried on watching TV trying to block out his hallucination. "Gray it's me" Natsu invited himself in "listen to me!" he ordered picking up the TV remote and turning off the TV.
That's when Gray realised it wasn't another hallucination, it was the real thing.
