Isabelle's eyes lit up when she saw him. But soon realizing that her new best friend had an infatuation with him made her snap back to reality. She knew that this wasn't good to keep her feelings in but the last thing she wanted was to hurt someone. So, when she saw him, she tucked that smile in and swallowed it. She soon moved to the side and left the two to talk.

Claire was now starting to understand her dilemma. You can't force someone to love you when their heart is completely captivated by someone else. Maybe instead of forcing a relationship onto someone.

Simon realized that he completely messed up. His intention was never to hurt anyone but he did. And there he was again, standing at the door of a girl that was his 'girlfriend' but didn't love her the way she was supposed to.

Jace who claimed himself to be lucky to have won the girl. He wasn't too fond of bringing a human to the institute but Clary insisted. She had dragged him to this great length that she couldn't let her best friend fend for himself. Another thing that bugged him was that Simon was all over Clary. Oblivious to it all, Clary simply denied it. There was no way.

He was a friend. Nothing more. Oh, did Jace had hear it all! The kiss that Simon and her shared nearly made Jace end it all. When it happened, Jace walked with flowers in his hand that he was bound to show her. She would have loved the roses. He would've broken one and placed one neatly into her hair. The deep redness representing the love that he had for her and the redness fitting in with the color of her hair.

Clary not knowing where she stood in all of this. Her being the starting domino to knock all the other ones down. It wasn't that she was doing this on purpose— she loved the idea of Claire and Simon being together. And she almost felt terrible that things had turned out this way. The soft heart of her friend that she had remembered as kids. The days when Claire used to get bully by this girl in elementary school. Pulling out her blonde hair, ruining her pretty dresses, and small shoes. Claire wouldn't have fought back to get in trouble. She would cry and beg to stop.

At times, Clary remembered that wondering if that's why Claire is such a determined shadowhunter. Not wanting to be at the feet of someone else but to stand up and fight.

Out of this quintuple pentagon, no one seemed to notice anything about the other resident of the institute. Alec often him found himself hanging around a warlock that he had a liking for. But, Alec didn't bother of informing the rest of the group.

Claire tucked a strand of hair behind her ear when she moved off of the sleek sheets of her bed. "Claire."

Her name came out smooth from his lips. "Simon, I need some fresh air."

That's all it took. As if muted, Claire brushes past the tall figure and making her way towards the front door. She grabbed her leather jacket off of the coat hanger and opened the door to see that it was pouring down rain. But that wasn't gonna stop her. She held out her wrist and ran her hand across the black rune making her hidden from the mundanes.

But as if it worked for all, that was the last time Claire Hazelwood was seen for six months.
