Into the Arena
I actually read Ryder's The Mating Tournament before Into the Arena. And I can say confidently that Into the Arena is far superior. Although it is still incomplete, I simply love the main character's sassy attitude and quick thinking in situations. On top of that, I love the ultimatum kinda plot of the book (see details on Ryder's page for this) that sets stress on the reader when skimming through it. It's enjoyable to finally have a female protagonist who isn't immediately falling in love with a mate without any character development. This one has you flipping to the next chapter to see what she's up to next.
There's not much else to say due to it being 2/3 finished but I personally can't wait for the next update!
Rating: ★★★★☆
As I mentioned earlier, Ryder also has a prequel kinda book, The Mating Tournament. I honestly was not that taken with it but made myself finish it. The male was a tad too barbaric and overbearing for me and the female was lacking in values. You can honestly read Into the Arena as a stand-alone and be fine, but if you want to know more about the origins, by all means, but I personally would just skip to the superior work ;)
I'll rate the Mating Tournament I suppose.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
I'm sure if it was reworked the book would have more potential. But hey, that's just me, ya know?
Alright, alright! That wraps it up for me! I hope you enjoyed my thoughts. Again, if you've read the books, please comment your thoughts. Or if you've other ideas for good werewolf books that I haven't even heard of, please, by all means, let me know!
Ciao, Loves!
