A/N

Okay guys, here it is. Sorry I've been neglegent. Leaving the story untouched for so long is truly my fault, and I will fix it. With school starting up I will get back on track with my writing. A huge thanks goes out to Toramasen, Texassavvy, MACmonster2, and JadeFlame15. Thank you guys so much for making me feel like a true author, it means the world to me and I'll pay you back as I can, by trying to make this story the best it can be. I can only dedicate one chapter at a time, but each of you will get a dedication. I know this chapter is short, but be pacified that more are soon to come.

"Leave them," He commanded when someone did something I couldn't hear, probably tried to move one of my friends, "Let them suffer when they realize their mistake and error that caused them to lose their one valuable asset."

He put his hands on my waist and lifted me up onto the back of a dragon. I stayed quiet, forcing myself not to whimper when he swung up behind me, too close for my comfort. His dragon started moving and I easily lost my balance. "Careful Princess." He warned when he balanced me by his hands on my waist.

His tone changed from mocking to concerned. His sudden mood change left me dazed, then I realized what has caused the turnaround. We had left the presence of his companions. My hands slid on his dragon's smooth scales as I searched for a handhold that could help me keep my balance. His hands slid over mine and gently lead them to the spines that trailed down his dragon's back.

I shuddered and leaned away from him, trying to slid my hands out from under his. He quickly leaned back, he pulled his hands back to rest outside of my thighs. "I'm sorry." He murmured, sounding sincere. "Where's Lazuli? Is she okay? The hall..." I trailed off as my head started to pound. I moaned softly and rubbed my forehead. "Ow," I said slowly, surprised to feel blood dripping down the side of my face.

"You're bleeding?", He said in surprise, gently grabbing my wrist. I flinched as his hand gently touched my face. "Let me help." He murmured gently, sounding hurt by my rejection. "Where's Lazuli? Where Is she? I can't see without her!", I was panicking, a late reaction to what had happened. I tried to stop the tears that I could feel flowing down my face.

"Hush, Shh, It's okay." He murmured, smoothing his hands down my face, carefully wiping off my tears. "You will see her soon, I promise. Now calm down and let me see your head." I whimpered and nodded. "Okay," He whispered as he turned me to the side, so that my legs were hanging off one side. He lightly turned my head towards him.

"Just a slight scrape, you should be fine. I told them it was too dangerous to try and collapse the tunnels. Even more so now that your vision is gone. It seems that this isn't even your injury. Lazuli must've gotten a blow." His dragon growled under us as he said that.

I sucked in a breath, afraid of his reaction. "I know," He murmured, his voice curt and angry, "I'm upset about is too Lux. We told them not to because it put them in danger, but the apparently didn't listen to us." His voice was simmering with anger, but his hands were soft on my face, showing none of the violence that they could bring.

"You told them not to? Why?" I whispered in confusion, "Don't you hate us?" He was silent for a moment, and I could feel the tension from him and his dragon. "They didn't tell you?", He hissed out. I flinched back from the venom in his voice, the sudden movement made me start to topple off the back of his dragon. He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist.

"How old are you?", He demanded, his arms tightening around me. I whimpered, "I'm seventeen." He gasped, "Only a year away and they have hidden it from you?" I cringed and gasped as his dragon launched into the air. He didn't even flinch, his hold securing me like a seat belt. I hid my face into his chest to block the stinging wind.

"What are you talking about?", I mumbled into his shoulder. "Maria," He said softly as we landed, he pulled back to stare in my eyes,

"I'm your mate."
