Love you all, please don't kill me!!

The cloud cover was actually the best luck we could get, the freezing rain pelting me wasn't a plus, but it hid us from sight as we blended into black. The dragons that were guarding where we left didn't see us until Lazuli was on top of them. I quickly dived off of her, rolling when I made contact with the ground. Six years of gymnastics have finally paid off.

As Lazuli was dealing with the dragons, I ran into the hall, following nothing but the mental link from Sebastian. Lazuli had no trouble taking care of two, fully grown, male dragons, and she caught up with me in no time. That way, She murmured when we reached a fork that I couldn't decide which way to go. I nodded and started running towards the left, feeling the link getting stronger. No, Maria, what have you done? Sebastian's voice was weak and pained, but it was getting stronger.

I heard him cry out in pain and that made me run faster, knowing that we were getting closer to him. Lazuli lunged ahead of me and burst into the room before I could. We were standing head on to Connor and his dragon. Sebastian was crumpled on the floor behind him, beaten and battered with blood going down the side of his face. Connor smiled at me and wiped Sebastian's blood off of the dagger he was holding.

Zvire stood taller and moved to Connor's side. "So you finally decided to show up Maria? I was just getting to know the guy you left me for, he's a coward." I bared my teeth at Connor, a feral growl ripping from my chest, Lazuli and I were in the same mind, both acting the same way. "Step away from him now Connor." I snarled when he smiled at me.

"You are too cute, both of you." He laughed, and Zvire snorted, "You don't scare us." Lazuli roared and I lunged at Connor, taking him by surprise, and knocking the blade from his hand and punching hi, in the jaw. I vaguely recognized that Zvire and Lazuli were fighting behind me, but I trusted her to take care of herself. I kneed him in the groin and punched him in the gut.

I felt the sting of Zvire's blow on my cheek, but Connor had yet to touch me. He was laughing at me, at us, as he was doubled over. "Maria," Sebastian whispered breathily, lurching to throw the blade to me, "Make him hurt." I smiled at him before turning back to Connor. He punched me in the jaw before I grasped that he was up. I swung the blade randomly, catching him in the arm.

Zvire roared in pain, the gash looked deep on both of them. Lazuli gained the upper hand with Zvire and pinned him to the ground, her teeth around his throat. Connor was huffing like it was hard to breath and there was blood dripping form his mouth and his neck. "Yield Connor, you're beaten." I said seriously, Holding the blade up to his throat.

"Never!" He spat out as he lunged towards me with a dagger in his hand, making my blade go through his throat. "Maria!" Sebastian yelled as Connor fell to the ground. I realized why he was yelling as my hands fell to the blade sticking out from my stomach. Lazuli roared and was writhing on the ground as I stood there, dumbfounded. I never actually thought he would try to kill me.

I realized what had happened and I stumbled a step back. "No," Connor whispered, his voice barely audible, snapping me back into reality. I felt the pain then, it blossomed through my stomach and abdomen, burning through my lungs and arms as I tripped back, falling on Sebastian. He caught me gently. "Maria!" He cried out, hugging me to his chest, frantically wiping my tears away as they streamed down my face. "No, no Maria, stay with me, people are coming Lux called them, they're on their way, Please Maria! Hang on, please!" He started sobbing as he pleaded with me.

"I'm so sorry Sebastian," I whispered, feeling the blood coming up my throat ans into my mouth, "I never thought, he would do it." "Shh," He murmured, wiping the blood off the corner of my mouth, "They're here, they'll take care of you. You'll make it." I shook my head weakly, a whimper going up my throat, "It's too late, I'm sorry. I love you Sebastian."

"No Maria," He sobbed, "Don't say that like you're saying goodbye, you can't leave me!" I smiled weakly at him and gently moved my hand to his heart. My eyes closed as I heard Lux roar in agony, he was conversing with Lazuli like Connor and I were. At least she didn't have to die alone. I'm sorry Lazuli, I love you. I thought weakly to her, she responded, even softer than me, I love you too Maria.

Everything else faded and I went to sleep.

I was going to leave it there and realized it was too short and that wasn't fair so...here you go(sorry about the font, I'm in a rush)

Sebastian P.O.V

I willed Lux to fly faster as I caught her from falling. Tears fell from my face as I cradled her close to my chest. He gaze was dazed, and pain, like she didn't fully understand what had happened. “Maria!” I cried out, trying to get her attention on me, she couldn't lose focus, or she'd might-NO! I won't let her. “No, no Maria, stay with me, people are coming Lux called them, they're on their way, Please Maria! Hang on, please!” I pleaded, my pleas turned into sobs as I thought of a future without her. All the talks, the laughter we shared, the bond I have carefully sheltered and strengthened, all of it, was fading.

“I'm sorry Sebastian,” She whispered, blood gently pooled in the corner of her mouth as her eyes found mine, tears overflowing down her cheeks as she paused to suck in a painful breath, “I never thought, he would do it.” Her words were broken because of her pain, I held her closer, murmuring, “Shh. They're here, they'll take care of you. You'll make it.” I wiped the blood from her mouth, and prayed that I was right. I didn't know who I was trying to reassure more, her or myself.

She whimpered and shook her head weakly, “It's too late, I’m sorry. I love you Sebastian.” I sobbed,“No Maria, Don't say that like you're saying goodbye, you can't leave me!” She smiled weakly, placing her hand gently on my heart. She closed her eyes and all that I could see was her limp, bloodied form in my arms, and I heard Lux roar into the heavens, voicing all the despair and agony we felt.
