Part 4- Jump scares and Dad jokes

"WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!" He started barking excitedly as he could smell both the dead meat and Jin inside the cottage and started scraping at the door.

I look up to see through the window, horrified by the thought that they caught me eavesdropping, but that was far from their reactions! I see both Jin and Hoseok looking like they got the fright of their lives with Hoseok's scream as the background music. After I heard his scream, and saw their expressions, I was tearing up with laughter. Then, Jin came out and looked at me angrily.

"YAH! Y/N! What the hell?! Here your dog is barking his tail off and there you are laughing your ass off??" He exclaims.

"OH MY GOD!!!! That was Husky? Yah... really. That gave me a heart attack! I feel someone took away fifteen years of my life. And stop laughing, it isn't funny! Ugh.... Why does he have such a loud voice? Yah! Y/N!! Stop laughing already." Hoseok says half-scared and half-annoyed.

"Sorry Hobi! But, LOL. You should have seen the look on your faces!! It was hilarious!" I somehow manage to say between laughing. "Well! What more can you expect if a dog smells meat in his house after coming back with his owner who has raided the house of her patients? But this is new. I know that Jin is a sacredly old monkey, but you are afraid of these kinds of things too, Hobi?"

"YAH! YAH! YAH! YAH! YOU! Y/N! HOW COULD YOU CALL THIS DEVILISHLY HANDSOME FACE AN OLD MONKEY?? YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE! *NO MEAT*!"

With that I lost my fuse and forgot how to breathe.

"NO MEAT! NO MEAT?! Did you just say that you out of town alien who barged into the village and does nothing but finishes resources without mercy and can't say one decent joke and thinks that he is the most handsome face of the world when your eyesight is worse than the night bats who can't see anyway? Did you just dare to say that with an amount of dead skin cells larger than the size of the mountain on which you shit, coming out from your failed jokes and windshield wiper laugh cursed mouth?? I swear Jin, take back your words. NOW."

Both of them shut up and look at me bewildered. Hoseok has an expression as if he forgot what his name is.

"That was the new record I guess. Last time you could say only one sentence without breathing." Jin said, completely demoralized. "Ugh........ I can't believe I have to give up. Fine I take back my words." And he bends down and pats Husky, "You devil, because of you I have to listen so much. Wait till I get my hands on you when Y/N's not looking." He says with a ridiculous face on.

I calm down, but still determined to not control my angry tongue and say, "OK, sorry. I shouldn't have said so much. I take it back too and don't try to hurt Husky, cause he is definitely stronger than you." I chuckle a bit while Jin fake smiles. "Hobi? Why are you looking like you are never going to trust someone in your life ever again?"

"With the cypher you just rattled off Y/N, because someone deprived you of MEaT, I think it's understandable. Really? And you were telling that I don't look the sacredly type while you probably threw more shade than a cursed banyan tree. I really feel like losing faith in humanity."

I give him a smile while feeling kinda flustered and kinda proud. "Anyways guys, let's go back. Jin will you have dinner at my place?"

"Nah! I gotta go and cook for my old man and mom. See ya! Enjoy the meat!" he shouts back while making his way.

"His parents??" Hoseok looks at me and asks.

"After he came at the village, they are the ones who took care of him. When he came to the village, his condition was much worse than yours, actually. I and the old couple took care of him for days. Therefore he feels obliged." I smile while remembering him crying after he found out he is alive. "So he calls them his parents." I look back at Hobi and smile.

"I see" he said. "So shall we go back then?"

"Yeah. By the way, what were you guys talking about with so much concentration that you got the surprise of your life?" I asked while we were walking back to the cottage. I really wanted to know what were they talking about to have so much tension in the air.

"Hmm? Nothing serious! We were just exchanging some dad jokes. Actually when Husky barked I was telling one. Oh right, I left it hanging." He says and smiles sheepishly.

"You were exchanging dad jokes with such concentration to get the flinch of your life? WoW. I'm amazed." I say sarcastically. He might be worse than Jin with jump scares.

"HEY I'm pretty sure you just thought that I'm worse than Jin in jump scares! Listen up. I'm braver than you think you know!"

"I kinda find THAT hard to believe." I say amused, "Anyways, tell the joke you were telling Jin!"

"Now you are talking....... OK! So, what is brown and sticky??" He says and smirks, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Ew....... It better not be what I'm thinking Hobi, then I'm going to be confirmed that Jin is better at both jump scares and dad jokes." I say, low-key disgusted.

"A stick"

"pfffffFFFFFFFT!" I ended up laughing again though it was a failure of a joke. He joined in the laughter and we ended up out of breathe. We went back to the cottage and DAMN! Jin got a great haul. I roasted the meat and we had our dinner. We chit chatted about silly things during the dinner time, but, I didn't ask anything about his conversation with Jin.    

Late at night, when everything was finally quiet, I realized that I had quite a few incidents today. Looking back one by one, the hearty and delicious dinner, Jin and Hoseok getting scared by Husky, their conversation (which I shamelessly tried to eavesdrop), the patch of fire, Hoseok's unknown business and him suddenly becoming a housemate, his dramatic entry in the village,

Wow, half of the incidents were related to Hoseok. 

After the long day, the tiredness finally started to snuggle up its way. I slowly let myself drift to sleep, with the most disturbing incident lightly slipping in and out of my subconscious state.
