We only saw each other for seconds each night,
Looking into your eyes made fire spark in my stomach,
Those few seconds made me think you loved me,
That you had felt the same wayI waited for the eclipse,
Just to get close to you,
The closest we had ever been in years,
The earth was aflame in your radiant lightAnd then you left,
I called out to you,
You never answeredMy lunar rock grew colder,
My waves grew larger,
My tides grew into chaosBut I have calmed the sea inside of me,
I have come to love the cold,
I no longer need your warmthI'll see you again tomorrow,
As you shine bright,
And I'll reflect that radiant light
