You arrive at the quarry right as Beverly does too. You hear the boys arguing about who's going first.
"I'll go." Beverly said.
She took off her sundress and took a running start. You took off your clothes too, but stood by the boys instead of jumping quite yet. You could see all the boys faces turn red as you both did so.
"Sissies." She said before jumping
She yelled in joy as she jumped off.
Oh my how is she so cool.
"What the fuck! Oh, holy shit! We just got showed up by a girl." Richie said.
"Do we have to do that now?" Stanley asked scared.
"Come on!" Beverly yelled from down below.
"Oh shit." Stanley said.
Everyone eventually jumped, except for you and Stanley.
"Together?" Stanley said sticking his arm out.
"Together." You say taking his hand.
You both walk back a bit and get a running start. Then you jump. You felt butterflies until you felt the coolness of the water. You got up and you and Stanley looked at each other, then giggled. You all played in the water for a while splashing and giggling away.
"Chicken fight!" Richie said as he got on Stanley's shoulders.
Beverly got on Bills shoulder. The rest of you cheered for who you wanted to win.
Richie bragged so much, then lost terribly.
"If only his muscles were as big as his ego." You whisper to Eddie and he laughs loudly.
"Hey, What did you say about me l/n?" Richie said playfully.
"Nothing you loser." You said sticking your tongue out.
You look at Stanley, just to see him staring at you. Once you notice he quickly turns away and turns pink.
Hm.
"Ah fuck! What was that! Something just touched my foot right here!" Richie said freaking out.
"It's a turtle." Bill said coming up from searching under the water.
Eventually you all got out and relaxed by the shore of the quarry. You and Beverly sunbathed while the boys sat, all of you listening to music.
"Watch this." Beverly whispers next to you.
She sits up quickly and you watch as all the boys turn away quickly. You and Beverly both giggled away while the boys got embarrassed.
"News Flash Ben, schools out for summa!" Richie says rummaging through Bens backpack.
"Oh, that? That's not school stuff." Ben said.
Richie pulls out a letter.
"Who sent you this?" Richie Asks.
"No one, give it." Ben said quickly snatching it from his hands.
Everyone watches as Richie pulls out a folder and opens it.
"What's with the history project?" Eddie Asks.
"Oh, well when I first moved here I didn't have anyone to hangout with so I just started spending time in the library.
"You went to the library...on purpose?" Richie Asks.
People start to hand the folder around. You and Beverly get up to look at it too. You sit next to Stanley and Beverly sits next to Bill.
"What's the black spot?" Stanley asked.
"The black spot was a nightclub that was burned down years ago by that racist cult." Eddie said.
"The what?" Stanley asked.
"Don't you watch Geraldo?" Eddie asked.
You just give him a confused look.
"Y-y-Your hair.." Bill starts staring at Beverly.
"Your..your hair is beautiful, Beverly." Ben says.
"Oh, right thanks." Beverly says smiling.
You try not to laugh as you see Bill glaring at Ben sorta angrily.
Can't wait to see how this love triangle turns out.
"Here, pass it." Richie says.
Bill hands the folder to Richie and he opens it up.
"Why is it all murders and missing kids?" Richie Asks.
"Derry's not like any town I've been in before. They did a study once and it turns out people die or disappear six times the national average." Ben said.
"You read that?" Beverly asked.
"And that's just grown-ups. Kids are worse. Way way worse." Ben said.
Everyone looked around at each other nervously.
"I've got more stuff if you want to see it." Ben said.
You could see Eddie nodding no. You all decided to go anyways.
What have we gotten ourselves into this time.
