Chapter 17

"Race you!" I yelled as we came closer to the cabin. I sprinted as fast as I could. Bella ran up behind me grabbed me and began to run with me in her arms. "Darling this isn't racing!" I said giggling.

"Shhh!" She said glaring at me. I became quiet immediately when I saw how serious the expression on her face was. She ran quickly back to the cabin and ran inside.

"What was that all about?" I questioned

"There were people out there!" She yelled flailing her arms frantically. I fell over laughing really hard.

"Bella, sweetheart, I'm sure they were just normal people, they weren't going to hurt you."

She crossed her arms and stuck out her bottom lip, "But still..." I gave her a sympathetic look and wrapped my arms around her tightly.

"If anyone lays a finger on you, you just say the word and I'll take care of them," I said nuzzling her neck. She giggled and I just pulled her closer. Tears started to fall from my eyes, I wasn't even sure why I was crying. Bella wrapped her arms around me tight. She knew what was wrong before I could even process

"You know I'm not going anywhere love. I promise." She said holding me tighter. I didn't want to say a word. All I could do was cry harder into her shoulder, knowing someday maybe I'd loose the woman who means everything to me. I couldn't bare the pain of her not holding my heart. I would mess this up.... like I always mess everything up...

"I'm not good enough..." I choked out... I heard Bella sigh and she grabbed one of my shoulders and cupped my chin using her free hand "You are better than enough Gwen, I promise You won't mess this up. You're human, you'll make mistakes and so will I. It will be okay. No matter what happens I'm right here," She wiped away each of my falling tears and gently, yet passionately, kissed my lips. She let go of my chin and I let my head droop down to the floor. She could see from my actions how troubled about this I really was. I'm not sure if she really understood clearly how my heart was hers and if she had ever decided to get up and walk away, she'd have to take it with her.

"Gwen sweetheart, I'm yours, forever and always. You're the only thing that I could ever truly call mine without it feeling temporary. You and I are permanent and nothing you could say or do could change my mind about that. You're mine," She said taking my hands.

"Bella, I am never going to be what you want, I'll mess things up. I'll say things I don't mean, I'll say stupid things, I'll get the wrong impression. I'm not the perfect knight in shining armor you've dreamed me up to be, I try so hard but it's not good enough for you," I say as the tears still stream down my face. "I don't want to hurt you..." I said as I collapsed in her arms she held onto me so tight.

"Love, we are still immature with many things. We may get hurt, but in the end We will still love each other and you and I both know that. You're scared and so am I, but I will never leave your side my love. You're my life my everything and my heart. It may get really challenging but I will always be yours," She said and all I could do was hold on tighter. We held each other on the floor of the cabin, not saying anything.
