I'm with him

Nightwing was a little nervous. Tonight was Harley's first night in Blüdhaven, and he didn't know who they were going to meet. That included villains, and a slightly overprotective father dressed as a bat. And the rest of his crew of birds.

Harley was dressed in her usual outfit, although her mallet was at Arkham. Nightwing lent her a collapsible staff. After making sure masks were firmly put and suits had no holes, they jumped out the window, flying off into the night.

Harley was excited, though. She had a chance to prove she was done with crime, and she got a chance to do it with Dick, who she had to admit was kinda cute. And he was sweet. Her idea of a boyfriend, if she could choose.

"Slow down, Harls. You just moved in with him. Stop thinking about the future and think about surviving tonight." Harley silently chided herself.

An alarm went off nearby, and Nightwing flew to it(puns). Harley was on his heels. When they got there, they saw the Penguin and goons.

"Now, why is Penguin in Blüdhaven?" Nightwing muttered. Harley agreed. Penguin worked in Gotham. And if he was here, why a simple bank robbery?

"You coming?" Nightwing joked as he leapt of the edge, into the middle of the goons. He punched and kicked, knocking down soon after goon. Harley leapt down to Penguin.

Penguin saw her and snarled. "Traitor. You're supposed to cause crime, not stop it." Harley yelled at him, "I." Punch "Am." Kick "No." Elbow "Villain!" A final kick, and he was on his back. Nightwing was running to them.

As Harley watched Penguin get up, she had the urge to just stab him. To get rid of him now and forever. But when she saw Dick handcuff him, the urge went away. What good was killing him when he was going to face the court? And besides, would Nightwing stab him?

After giving Penguin to the police, with Harley hiding in an alley, Nightwing walked over to her. "You ok?" Harley had looked lost in thought. "Yeah. Wing, For a second, I wanted to stab him. Just get rid of 'im. Then I thought, 'would Nightwing do this?' that's the only thing that stopped me." She looked at him. " What if I had done it? Just killed him outright. What would you do?"

He sighed. "Honestly, I don't know. I don't have the heart to arrest you, not after getting to know you. But killing is against the law. I guess, unless you really pushed it, you can still fight with me."Harley took that as a good sign.

After making it back to the apartment, changing back into civies, and checking for injuries, they went to their room. As she stepped into hers, she saw a shadow in the corner of her room.

"Y'know, bats, I'm not going to hurt him." Harley said as she took off her mask. The tall shadow, which turned out to be Batman, walked closer to her. "Why was Penguin here tonight?"

She stared at him, her brows furrowed. "I don't know. I never talked with Penguin before today, unless he was making a deal with Joker, or we met outside of causin' trouble. I didn't know he was coming, and I don't know why he came, so beat it. Doesn't Gotham need you, or was I your only big problem and you're making it your goal to annoy me?" She said, letting the sarcasm flow freely. She didn't have much of a chance earlier, as crime had been non-existent after Penguin. Batman walked closer.

"I'm not making it a goal to annoy you. I don't trust you. I don't trust you around Dick, I don't trust you around Blüdhaven. The only place I'll trust you is a prison." With those words, Batman snuck off into the night.
