Louis' POV

I walked back towards the courtyard with my hand in Clem's. We had finished the task Violet had given us and we didn't have anything to do for the rest of the day. I wanted to whisk her away to my room and have her all to myself but it was already nearing evening and everyone was sitting on the benches awaiting their dinner.

I pulled her over to the table with Vi, Mitch, Asaim and Ruby and we sat down.

"Hey guys." I said to everyone. As we were sitting I noticed Mitch's eyes were locked on to me and Clem's interlocked hands and I tightened my grip. I was already upset that she had worn a shirt of his but of course I would never say that to her.

Aj and Tenn came running over shortly after we sat down to join us. Dinner was placed in front of everyone and we dug in. The food was good and I ate slowly to try to savour the taste. I was starving since I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.

Across from me Aj was licking the sides of his bowl and slammed it back down on the table in anticipation for more. He got up to get a second helping and came back with a sad look on his face.

"What's wrong Aj?" Clem asked.

"There isn't anymore food Clem and I'm still hungry!" He folded his arms and glared down at his bowl.

"You're just gonna have to make do Aj, we've gone much longer without food before. Don't act so spoiled."

He started to argue with her and she argued back. They were going back and forth before I decided to intervene.

"You can have the rest of mine Aj." I slid my bowl over to him and he happily grabbed it and wasted no time in eating it.

"Wait a second! Are you sure Louis?"

"Yeah it's fine. I wasn't that hungry anyway." It was a lie. I was very hungry but what kind of a person would I be to let Aj go hungry.

I looked across the table and everyone was enjoying their meal. I sighed softly and noticed that Clem was devouring her food. She noticed that I was looking at her and stopped eating so quickly. She gingerly placed her spoon from her bowl to her mouth. Taking smaller bites.

"What are you doing? Why'd you stop?"

She blushed.

"I don't want you to see me eating like a pig."

I chuckled at her. "I don't care how you eat Clem and pigs are cute... just like you."

I heard gagging from across the table and looked over to see that the culprit was Violet. She was dramatically making motions like she was going to vomit.

"You two make me sick." I rolled my eyes at her.

"Really? How."

"You two obviously want to bang each other so just go get a room already!"

I shook my head at her and saw that Clem was blushing furiously and looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but here. Ruby and Asaim laughed in the corner and Mitch had his head turned away from us. I saw that he had his fist clenched and I wondered what his problem was.

"Bang? Why do you want to bang Clem Louis?" Aj innocently asked. He looked so confused and I didn't blame him.

"Yeah Louis why would you want to do that?" Asaim teased from across the table. I threw my spoon at him and he yelled in surprise.

 "I don't know. You tell me since you're always the one saying you want to with Ruby." He blushed furiously and glared at me. That really shut him up. Ruby looked confused and I laughed at my antics.

Ruby cleared her throat and everyone turned to look at her. "Let's have a party ya'll."

Mitch looked at her quizzically, "A party?"

"Yeah! With all the crazy things that've happened recently we definitely need a lil' shindig to unwind. We also need to welcome Clementine properly to Ericsons' Home for Troubled Youth!"

Asaim looked longingly over at Ruby and I made a mental note to tease him more about it later. Mitch just nodded in response and Vi didn't seem to really care that much. Clem had a small smile on her face and I felt a gush of warmth rush through me. I loved seeing her smile and I vowed silently to make her do it more often.

"When do you wanna have it?" I asked.

"Tomorrow night? If that's okay with everyone." No one had disagreed to Ruby's plans so we all got up and got moving. I got off the bench to go to my room and Clem tugged my coat from behind.

"Should I still come over tonight?" She asked softly. Of course she had to come. Why would she even ask that. I nodded and she said that she would come after she had put Aj to sleep. We parted ways temporarily and I already missed having her near me. I hoped this clingy feeling would wear off soon. She didn't seem like the type to like that sort of thing and that got me thinking.

What type of boyfriend did Clem want? A soft, caring one? A dominant one? Probably one who was able to protect her. I certainly did not have chiseled abs or bulging muscles. Did she mind? I walked up to my room and collapsed on my bed, trying to ward off the insecure thoughts that were invading my mind.
