Chapter 1

Hey Y'all,

This is an older version of my story and my little sister had a hard copy and when i read it i liked this one better so I'm taking the other version off of here and posting this one... COMMENT, VOTE, and FAN PLEASE!!!!!!!! i only had one comment on the first posting of this chapter!!!! if you like it: comment and vote; if you like it but think it could be improved: comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really could use some constructive criticism other than that of my family!!!

Chapter 1:

Raylynn and Song were walking through the ever busy streets of Draecville. The two girls were waiting for Hawthorn, Raylynn's twin brother, to meet them so that they could start their day.

"Where is he? We've been waiting for almost half an hour and I'm hungry." Raylynn complained.

"Me too," Song agreed seconds before her stomach rumbled in agreement. "I've got an idea Raylynn. Why don't you open your link with Hawthorn to ask him what's taking him so long."

"Good idea Song. Why didn't I think of that?" Raylynn asked absent-mindedly.

"Because I always do the thinking if you'll remember," Song quipped.

"Very funny Song." Raylynn replied dryly. <Hawthorn?>

<What?>

<Where are you? Song and I have been waiting for you for almost half an hour!>

<Sorry Sis. I forgot about our plans today. I've been preoccupied.>

<With what?!>

<The news that three strangers are in town asking about the leaders of the Thief Guild.>

<Just a minute Hawthorn, Song's trying to tell me something.> "What's wrong Song?"

"Act casual but I think that someone's following us." Song said calmly.

"That's not anything unusual Song." Raylynn replied just as calmly. "That's been happening ever since we became the masters of the Thief Guild. What's the difference?"

"Well the difference is that this is a man, dressed in all black, carrying a sword and has been tailing us since we got to the market this morning." Song replied matter-of-factly.

"Song why didn't you mention this earlier?" Raylynn admonished. "Wait just a second while I tell Hawthorn what's going on. Meanwhile start walking for Catin's so that we can make a break for Stone Alley if we need to. Then I'll link you with Hawthorn and I so that we can figure out what we're going to do about this shadow."

"Sounds like a plan." Song agreed, "Maybe the thieves should have named you Brains instead of Psych. It would fit you better." Song joked.

"You know what you may be right." Raylynn agreed. "But they coined your name. Quick. Short for Quick-Thinking." She teased. <Still there?>

<Yep. What did Song want?>

<I think that she's become paranoid since we became the masters of the Thief Guild.>

<That's certainly understandable. So what's got her paranoid? >

<Well she says that we're being followed by a man who's dressed in all black and carrying a sword.>

<So? Happens a lot.>

<Yeah that's what I said. But she claims that he's been following us since we got to the market this morning. I suggested that we go to Catin's so that if we need to we can make a break for Stone Alley. What do you think?>
