Chapter 35

I pulled away from him. Giveing a small smile. "I should get going. Bye" I said walking towards the mirror. I touched it and it got all distorted and fuzzy. "Goodbye Velie" I heard him say as I jumped through the mirror. The mirror going normal behind me. I stood in my room looking around. It was dark outside the window. I heard footsteps outside my door. The door opening.

There stood Julius. "Velie! Where were you!? The whole Golden Dawn were searching for you!" He said panicked. He hugged me tightly as I got up from the ground. "D-dad. I'm sorry. I found out some weird stuff" I said. "What weird things?" He asked. "I can travel through mirrors" I said. "That's strange" he said. "Yeah I guess. But I also found out something else" I said. I gently moved away from him. "I'm done fighting in this war against you and the terrorist. I'll fight against other kingdoms for this kingdom. That's it" I said. Julius looked shocked. He then gave a soft smile. "If that's what you choose Velie. I wont force you to fight I you don't want to" he said. He put his hands on my face. "I can't believe the little girl I raised has grown so much" he said. I blushed from embarrassment. Everyone else must have been gone still. "Why are you here?" I asked Julius. "I stayed here incase you returned. Also because I was training Carter nearby" Julius explained. "He's nearby!? Can I see him train!?" I asked excited. "Tommorow. Right now I have to tell everyone else your back" he said walking to the door to my room. I nodded. "Alright. Sorry to worry everyone. I was lost for a while" I said. "I can tell. You went missing for an entire day" he said softly. He then walked away.  I felt so tired out of no where. drowsiness hitting me in waves. I laid on my bed and instantly fell asleep.

After waking up I had gotten changed into some new clothes. I had cleaned up a little bit around my room as well. Then Julius came and dragged me off to a forest. "Carter. Velies here" Julius said. Carter was sweating. He had no shirt and his hair was cut. He no longer had long hair. "Hey. Wanna summon some demons so I can get some real training done?" He asked. "Oh um" I was unsure. "Do it please" Carter said. He seemed so cold and different. I sunmonded a demon. He seemingly dissappeared out of no where. I watched as the demon was suddenly cut in half. I summonded another and arrows pierced it perfectly. My eyes growing in shock. I couldn't see my brother at all. "Was he really forced to kill so many people?" I asked shocked. "Yes. Since I could remember I've been killing. Killing everyone I was told to. I failed a lot when a kid. But as I grew. I soon learned I could use weapons perfectly. Doesn't matter what kind" he explained right next to me. I looked at him after jumping a little. "Carter... When we fight... Did you hold back?" I asked. "I'm holding back now. Trust me Velie. I could have killed you. I could have ended you but I kinda couldn't in the state I was in" He explained. "What are you like when not holding back or um not in the right state of mind?" I asked. Carter closed his eyes. "Your never gonna see or find out. Alright? I rather not ever have to be That way again" he said. "Carter" I said reaching for his hand. He pulled away from me. "It was a mistake to consider being close to you" he said quietly. Julius sighed. "Velie. May I talk to you?" He asked. "Yeah" I replied looking down. Julius walked me away from Carter. Carter training by hitting targets on trees.

"So what did you need Julius?" I asked. "You have no idea what your brother went through do you?" Julius asked. "And you do?" I asked. "I do because Volqrow told me. Carter refuses to speak about it but Volqrow told me so I could help him have a better life" Julius explianed. He sat down on a rock. I sat next to him "What happened to my brother?" I asked. Julius grabbed my hands. "Don't mention to Carter that either of us know alright?" He asked. I nodded. He let my hands go and looked at the sky. "How do I put this in a okay way?" He asked himself. He sighed and closed his eyes. "Your brother was abused and harassed in many ways as he grew up. Another problem is that he has some Substance and alcohol problems" Juslius said simply. "The reason your brother is acting this way today is because he's having withdrawals" Julius mentioned. He looked down. "Velie... I dont think there's any way to help your brother. I think hes not gonna make it much longer" Julius continued.  I looked down. "No you have to be wrong!" I said. "What are you even saying!?" I asked with tears. "Velie. He's not wrong" Carter said. I turned to face him. "Velie I'm dying is what he's trying to say" Carter said. He walked to me. "My body is having withdrawals from lack of drugs or alcohol. That damned God made my body addicted to it no matter how much I tried to make him stop" Carter continued. He grabbed my shoulders. I started to cry. "Come on! I just finally met you! I just finally found blood family!" I yelled hugging him crying. Carters arms held me tightly. His tears hitting my face as I looked him in the eyes. He was crying as well. "I finally found happiness. I finally understand what love is. Yet I'm gonna die before I get the chance to live a life I never got. So please sis. Don't cry over me. I'm gonna survive. I will find a way to" he said. "You better!" I said angry and sad.
