Chapter 2

A/N: I'm super sorry this has taken like forever but it's here now!

It's been two days since I was at Gringotts and I'm still not used to the fact that I'm some kind of a cat-human-hybrid. It's fairly easy to be a girl but being a half cat was definitely not that easy. I mean, I have cat ears and a tail for god's sake!

Today I had decided to go out shopping. I needed new, girly, clothes and I seriously doubted that anyone would recognize me as Harry Potter now. I had hidden my tail in my pants and ears under a beanie.

I walked to the closest buss station and took a buss to the city. I needed a good place to shop at. I was glad that I had asked Griphook to change some of my money to muggle pounds so I didn't have to make a trip to Gringotts again.

Just as I was stepping out of the bus, someone shouted behind me: "Hey! You!"

"You, a girl with red hair, stop!" I heard the voice shouting again, stopping when I realized that she might be talking about me.

I turned around, seeing a girl, maybe my age with black hair, running towards me. Her dark eyes were glinting happily when she finally reached me.

"You're a witch!" She exclaimed, making me shush her quietly.

"How did you even know? Are you one?" I asked rapidly, wondering how she could know.

"I have a gift. I can see people's auras but only magical people's", she told me happily.

"That's awesome! I've never heard of anything like that..." I murmured in awe.

As we started walking towards Harrods, close by, she told me how she had been born with the gift which was hereditary and how she got it from her mother who had died giving birth to her.

"My name is Opal, by the way", she laughed, making me realize I hadn't told her my name either.

"I'm Hiralynn", I said, hoping she wouldn't want to know my last name.

"Mind if I call you Lynn? And do you go to Hogwarts?" She asked when we walked inside the enormous place.

"No, I don't mind and yes I do, I'm going on my fifth year this September", I happily told her. I always had wondered what it felt like to have a real friend. Hermione and Ron were okay but to face the facts, Ron was just a jealous prick and Hermione was kind of annoying with her know-it-all attitude.

"That's cool! I'm starting there this year. I'm actually sixteen but I didn't pass my OWLs because we had different curriculum at my old school in India so I'm also going on my fifth year", Opal told me excitedly.

"It's nice to hear I'll have a friend at Hogwarts! I mean I have my old friends but... Before this summer I actually used to be a boy so I don't really know how they'll react", I told her, hoping she would understand. She seemed like a great person and an amazing friend.

"So, are you transgender or..." Opal started, leaving the question open.

"Actually no, I just found out that I was born a girl but my parents glamoured me to look like a boy, Merlin only knows why though", I told her, chuckling at the last part.

"Oh, okay. Have you asked your parents why they did it?" Opal asked, making me flinch. Of course she couldn't know that my parents were dead.

"They died when I was little, I actually live with my mom's sister and her family, they're muggles", I told her, quieting at the last part.

She looked at me apologizing silently with her eyes. I smiled reassuringly just as we stepped inside of the first clothing store. I was glad that Opal was there with me because I really didn't have any idea what to buy for myself now that I was a girl.

"Come on, Lynn! Let's go look for some cute skirts and dresses and some jeans and you need some makeup too, I'll teach you how to apply it!" Opal gushed, tugging my arm, laughing when I finally gave up and let her drag me away.

After five hours, at least ten different clothing stores at Harrods and of course shoe and makeup stores, a few stores outside Harrods, we were finally ready. I had twelve shopping bags with me and Opal had six with her, we looked ridiculous but at least we had a super fun day. I was happy that Opal had seen me and my light pink aura and that she had the courage to approach me because now I was sire that we'd definitely become best friends.

"I'll call you tomorrow so we can plan a sleepover, okay? Remember to answer me, Lynn!", Opal said just as the bus pulled over and the door opened for me and a few others.

"I will, don't worry", I said and stepped inside, finding myself a seat next to the window so I could wave at Opal who was smiling brightly at me.

I took my new phone from my pocket, looking at Opal's name with a smile on my lips, deciding to text her even if it made me seem clingy.

A/N: I don't know if anyone noticed but Hiralynn is developing a crush on Opal ;) I think I will create something between them but the final pairing will be Hiralynn/Draco, I promise! ^^ Hope you liked this chapter! Please vote and comment! :)
