Boruto ran, he ran, and ran, and ran, as fast as his feet would allow him. His sides hurt, they were cramping with exhaustion, and his head was spinning, full of thoughts and questions.
That stupid old man.
"Because he's your father!"
Sasuke? His father? No way. That's impossible! It has to be a trick, it has to be...it has to be!!
The boy came to a halt at a place he never thought he'd go a place he had only been a handful of times.
In fact, he had no idea why he was here in the first place.
Even so, he knocked on the apartment door, his head pounding with unanswered questions. He waited for awhile, ringing the bell a couple of times, praying for an answer.
And just when he thought all hope was lost, he heard the click of the lock turning, and the door swung open.
"Boruto? What are you doing here?"
"Uh hi...Auntie Sakura."

The silence was awful, Naruto wished he could just beat himself over the head with his computer.
Sasuke was no better off, only it wasn't his head he wanted to beat in.
"You.." Naruto started, a timid look on his face,
"Me?" The ravenette interjected, a nasty looking frown in his brow. "Why are you always so careless."
That definitely wasn't a question, and the younger male knew that quite heavily.
"I'm...sorry?"
"You're sorry? Our son is, who knows where, probably drilling his brains out over your stupidity."
"It just came out!! It's not my fault! I panicked!!"
"Are you or are you not the Hokage?" Sasuke jabbed in, hitting very close to home. "You're not some little kid anymore Naruto, you don't have an excuse!"
The man just sat, a wide eyed expression, a pain in his chest. After a few seconds he slumped into his seat, a pained laughter forming in the back of his throat.
"I should have never became a father...I don't know what I'm doing.."
Sasuke's expression softened, a furrow still in his brow. "I don't know much more than you, idiot."
The raven lifted his right hand, staring into his palm. "We're both idiots..when it comes to family."
"I don't think I like being an idiot anymore."
"You've always been an idiot."
"Shut up.."

Rain had started to sprinkle down outside as the young boy sat at the small dining table in the apartment.
"What brings you here?" Sakura questioned, setting a warm cup of tea in front of the boy, as she herself had a cup of coffee.
"I...I don't know.."
"What do you mean?" She continued to question, lighting a cigarette as the boy thought out his response.
"When did you start..smoking?"
"Boruto...when you grow up, and have a family of your own, it can go one of two ways...mine went in the wrong direction, and I'm paying for my stupidity.."
"...What?"
"Listen, why did you come running into my doorstep at 7 in the morning? You know Sarah's is still recovering and isn't due to come home until three days from now, you check on her stats religiously....somethings bothering you, and if you don't speak up, I can't help."
The blonde stared at her, puzzled at her response.
They both stayed quiet for awhile, the ticking of a clock keeping the house alive. Sakura finished half her cigarette, pushing it down into her ashtray to stop the flame, her coffee going cold.
"Do you.." he started, "Do you know who my parents are..?"
"Well, Boruto, that depends...do you want the real answer, or the safe answer?"
"Is Uncle Sasuke...my dad?"
Sakura lifted up her cup, taking her first sip of coffee, setting it down lightly.
"You could say that."
"I could..?"
"Listen Boruto, I know Naruto told you Sasuke was your father, and that's true. But that's not the whole story. If you want all your questions answered properly, go to the hokage's office, they're the only ones who can explain."
"Wait! So..so if sasuke is my dad, and Naruto is too then.."
"Yeah..They didn't tell you for protection..the world is a dark place, even in peaceful times like this, someone is always lurking around the corner."
Boruto sat up fast, running out the door, "Thank you auntie Sakura!" He called, his voice fading into the distance.
"He's diffidently related to those two morons." She laughed, taking another sip of her coffee, and lighting her cigarette once more for a drag.
"Take it easy with the questions, some things can't be answered.."
