Mid April
"Meow." A soft mewl rings in my ear. Well, guess I don't really need an alarm anymore. I glance at my phone. 7:00am. I groan and get up.
"I bet you're hungry," I say, "I've got an hour and a half before I gotta leave, so I should hurry up."
I feed the kitten and see her yawn, so I put her back on my bed, and head into the shower. When I come out, I quickly wrap myself in towel. So cold... I usually don't take too long to get ready, but I just washed my hair, so now I spend the next 10 minutes blow drying it. I could get sick if I went outside with wet hair at this time of the year.
Next I take out my UA uniform. The winter uniform consists of a long sleeved dress shirt, and a light gray blazer with dark turquoise trimmings, same colour as the skirt. Finally, there's a red tie that I know how to tie only because Jutsu always needed help with his in junior high. I slip on some thigh-high stockings because, come on, it's winter and I don't want to wear short socks. I also don't own a pair of black tights, so this'll have to do for now.
I stretch my arms above my head, and walk over to the mirror, pulling down my blazer and skirt slightly. Wow, this uniform is actually super comfortable. I open my bedroom door, satisfied.
I head into the kitchen, and plop a piece of bread into the toaster. The second I press the lever down, I hear skittering coming from the floor. I jump on the counter super fast, sending a gust of wind around the kitchen. Then I see it. Gokiburi.
The cockroach is just there, twittering its antennas. Now, I'm not scared of much, but I have severe entomophobia. Give me a rat? Sure. Give me a snake? I love them. But spiders? And insects? Hell no, bro.
It continues skittering around, and I stay crouched on the counter. I start thinking about that one weird video called "Cockroach Calisthenics". Gokiburi, gokiburi, gokiburi taisou... Okay no, I don't want to think about that right now.
