Chapter 3: Roam Around The World

“No, no, no.......” I flung things around our room searching for my favorite sweater. Tom poked his head in and caught a shirt right to his face. I was so frantic that I did not even notice til his arms wrapped around me from behind.

“Love what in the blazes are you looking for?” I deflated into his arms and leaned back.

“That blue sweater your mom gave me......I can't find it anywhere.”

“I took it to the cleaners yesterday.” I groaned as I remembered asking him to do that and now I felt like a complete fool. Looking around the room I let out a sound that was something like a growl and a moan mixed together. I had made a real mess. “Come on love, I will help you tidy up.”

“You are a true gentleman darling.” I began picking up the items I had flung to the far corners of our room. He took them from me and folded them since my folding skills lacked something fierce. “When is our flight again?”

“Two days from today at five a.m. I made sure that our clothes will be back from the cleaners tomorrow.”

“And?”

“And my mum will be picking up her furry grandson tomorrow night. She said it is easier for her to take care of him at her house.”

“Does she know what she's getting into? He is quite the handful.”

“She raised three rather rambunctious children, I think she can handle one fluffy ball of energy.” I laughed and threw a pair of socks st his head.

“You'd better hope so. I don't want to be blamed for her nice neat house is turned upside down by our little man.”

“It will give her practice for when she has grandchildren.” I stilled and so did he when he realized what he said. “I.....ah........well........” I smirked and planted a light kiss on his cheek.

“Easy tiger, I know what you mean.” He gave me a relieved grin as we finished cleaning the mess I made. In the back of my head I pictured him holding a child, our child someday. I shook my head and chided myself silently. We'd only been together for less then a year. He had a career and I still had at least two years of school left, but it was something that had been on my mind since we had a little scare two months ago. I was late and for two weeks we planned and talked about all things baby. It turned out to be a false alarm and part of me was a little bit disappointed it was. I had seen Tom last month holding Chris and Elsa's little baby girl and something inside just felt like it was perfect. Who knows if we make it in a few years it will be us cooing and awing over a little bundle of joy. For right now I had to finish packing the clothes we had here for our trip around the world. Hey now, I'm not kidding. We are quite literally going around the world with this press tour. Most of it will be with me sitting in the crowd trying not to get run over by the throngs of fans, but it comes with the territory.

“Leigh?”

“Yes?”

“You looked far away. What were you thinking about?”

“Just how nice it will be to see everyone again. I didn't get to thank them for all they did.......I owe them so much..........” He smiled and wrapped me in his arms again. I loved the feeling of warmth that radiated off of him and the smell of his cologne. I inhaled deeply and sighed in contentment.

“You are not the only one who owes them.”

“I know, but this all still seems like a dream. I'm afraid I'll wake up back in my old brownstone.....”

“You won't, I promise you that. You're stuck with me.” I stood up on my toes and he met me the rest of the way so our lips could meet. Kissing this man never gets old for me. I missed the slight scratch of his beard now that he was clean shaven again. My man the chameleon.
