STRONGER TOGETHER.
Even Alice had to have her days off.
The days when she had too much and all she wanted was to cry her soul out and go back home.
I think that kind of the day arrived ever since I opened my eyes and a white cat with the craziest blue eyes were staring right at me from the position on my chest. To make the whole situation even weirder, the cat had the crazy look in eyes as if I was stealing its whole space of living.
The room I was in wasn't the one from the hospital.
I knew that because no room in the hospital would have such a dark vibe.
The walls were in darker shades of blue as the ceiling was black and it seemed as if someone threw a few white drops over it.
The furniture in the room clearly wasn't designed for such a small space – the black desk was positioned near the door, completely clean with only one thick white candle; the bed was overly small, luckily fitting my size, with dark red silk sheets which I frankly wasn't used to at all; the low closet was long and had too many black trays, making it look as if someone would put dead bodies in it and not their clothes. Even the door was black, only golden knock standing out of the whole dark brooding looks.
The red carpet covering every inch of the floor made me feel as if I was truly lost.
The cat meowed right at my place like it was asking me to do something. I had no living idea what the hell that fluff of fur was asking me to do.
''Meow, you're scaring our new friend.'' The voice I'd listened for many mornings with no possible end made me feel at ease for just a moment – probably only because a huge cat finally jumped off of my chest and gave my lungs some space to work with.
I sat up on the bed, watching how sheet shone differently under strange angles. At some inches, the sheets were pure black, while at some they were vibrating red, almost annoying me because I liked when at least sheets were in one and only color.
''Hundred percent silk.'' He said in a blue.
I didn't ask why the sheets were in such colors, because I could feel its soft texture under my touch. My eyes immediately focused on Eir's, watching him like a hawk.
He was leaned against the door with left shoulder, eating pizza with one hand as with another arm he held his left elbow. In that position, he might have looked relaxed and calm, but I noticed how his muscles were tensed, his eyes darkening as little wheels kept turning inside of his little mind.
Basically, I knew I couldn't run away even if I tried to.
''How did I get here?''
He chewed so slowly it annoyed me and answered after he swallowed painfully loud. He was provoking me, trying to find my breaking point. What he didn't know, I've already passed all my breaking points with Brian. ''By car.''
I didn't even try to smile when his lips spread into a huge one. At least someone found the situation humorous. ''Why don't I remember driving the car?''
''Because Huginn was driving.''
My eyelids squeezed just a little mini inch as the corners of my eyes twitched. ''Why would Huginn drive me to this place?''
He took another bite of his pizza, then chewed for another hundred of years. I was so close to crying for how much annoyed I was.
If I was stuck with him babysitting me, I will surely drown myself in a bathtub.
