Jaekyung POV

Slipping my combat boots on and quickly lacing them up, I pull on my black leather jacket and a gray beanie before exiting my room. Walking down the hall, I slip my headphones on and begin blasting my music so that I won't be able to hear my family. Jogging down the stairs, I don't have to look towards the dining room to know that my parents and older brother sat in there eating breakfast without me.

There's no doubt that at least one of them tries calling out to me as I walk past them, but I don't hear it anyways thanks to the music blaring through my headphones, instead just walking straight out of the house. Shutting the door behind me, I spot Soomi and Sungah stood on the other side of the street waiting for me. They both smile at me, waving as I jog down the steps of our front porch and walk across our driveway towards the two.

I mutter a greeting to the two girls once I've gotten across the street, but don't bother turning my music off or lowering the volume. They're both used to this by now though, the three of us beginning to walk towards that dreaded hellhole called school.

The two of them just continue on talking to each other, knowing I can't hear a word of what's being said. I know my behavior of all of this irritates them and pisses them both off beyond belief, but for whatever reason they still stick with me. I've questioned them before about that, but they both just say that they're waiting for the old me to come back. That they think the old me is still alive somewhere and that they're waiting for that pathetic bitch to come back to them. I've tried telling them that she's gone, that the weak bitch isn't coming back, but for whatever reason, they refuse to believe me.

I just shrug the thoughts off as the damned building comes into view, reaching the school much too soon for my liking. Sighing quietly to myself, I shove my hands into my pockets and follow them into the building. Reluctantly, I turn my music down a tiny bit but leave the headphones over my ears. Well, that is until Soomi pulls them down.

"Have you heard? There's supposed to be a new guy starting school with us today." Soomi informs me, a mildly excited look on her face.

"Yeah, I heard he's supposed to be really cute and that he should be in our class." Sungah adds, nudging me. I roll my eyes, about to pull my headphones back on when I'm interrupted once more.

"Lang Jaekyung, please come to the office. Lang Jaekyung, please come to the office." The loud speaker announces. I groan in annoyance, sliding my headphones back on as I part ways from the two girls.

Shaking my head to myself, I ignore everyone in the hallways as I pass by. Thankfully, everyone just parts and makes a way for me as I go, nobody wanting to be too close to me as I walk by them. I don't mind it though, not particularly wanting to be too close to anyone to begin with.

It only takes a couple minutes before I arrive at the office. I purse my lips as I reluctantly go inside the room, immediately scanning the room to see who alls inside today. The usual front desk receptionist, two office workers that work during the class hour, the principal, and some guy with milk chocolate brown hair. The four people in the room who knows me well gives me a frown, the principal giving me a small glare at the fact that I've still got my headphones on and blasting music. Rolling my eyes, I pull them off, not bothering to turn the music down at all as I look around.

"The hell am I doing here?" I question, leaning back against the wall beside the door. The boy with brown hair spins around on his heel, dark brown eyes wide as they land on me.

"Jaekyung, this is Min Yoongi. He's new here and he'll be in your class. We'd appreciate it if you take him to class and lunch with you. And, try to behave for once. Min Yoongi, this is Lang Jaekyung." The principal introduces. I roll my eyes, scoffing.

"Let's go then. Mr. Ming gets finicky when someone's late." I say coldly, pushing myself off the wall. Yoongi's eyes widen, but he nods and is quick to follow me out the door.

"It's nice to meet you, by the way." Yoongi speaks up softly as we make our way through the halls. I just roll my eyes and pull my headphones back over my ears, not bothering to respond.
