WinterRaineeDay’s Favorite Quote:
“If you want to be the last one standing, become strong.” – Kageyama Tobio.
Kageyama Tobio said this quote in the very first episode of Haikyuu!! where Hinata Shouyou from Yukigaoka Junior High and Kageyama Tobio from Kitagawa Daichi had their first match and last match against each other. That resulted in Hinata’s team losing terribly against the latter.
Why did Kageyama say this quote to Hinata?
Hinata’s team was crushed to pieces by Kageyama’s team and it dealt a great blow to Hinata who was already struggling his way into the tournament. Kageyama, who has never seen someone struggle so much to win, decided to turn and have a word with him.
This can be found in the scene after the tournament ends when Kageyama and Hinata faced each other at the stairs where Hinata vowed to beat him in the future by saying he will be the last one standing instead of Kageyama.
So, in my opinion, this happens in every game/match/tournament/competition or even the simplest online game. There’s always winning and losing. What happens when you do nothing? You will gain nothing and lose.
On the other hand, what happens if you work hard and put your time into it? Of course, the saying is not always about physical strength, its mental strength as well. If you always have a negative mindset, then nothing good will ever happen to you but when you let go and believe in something and try to make a difference in the way you think or how you do in something. Then, you will mentally and physically improve as it becomes stronger the more you strive for it.
It is never about giving up. Trying to do something right after someone told you, you could not do it. For example: If you get hurt and a doctor says you will never be able walk again, you do not say “Okay, Doc.” I believe you get back on track and you prove them wrong. You become the last one standing. Always push forward and never get pushed back.
Therefore, never give up, even after you were crushed. Take it as a lesson or a guidance to move forward. You never know, maybe you’ll be the last one standing.
That will be all from me.
