"Huff...huff...huff.."
The nindroid crossed a set of bars, the adrenaline pumping through his system. How did it work really? Was it normal that he was feeling emotions despite not being directly human? He didn't know, how did he even end up in a criminal organization like this one? He told himself that he'd stop thinking about his life decisions but couldn't find himself to do so.
"Come on, hurry up. It's been an entire one minute." His coach, Ultra Violet, declared as she looked down on her timer. The woman looked rather impatient, well he wasn't surprised. According to reports from other guards, she barely smiled. Plus, her attitude's fierce, she definitely belonged unlike him. But he still had to try, live up to the quiet one and Ultra's expectations. The robot began advancing faster. His hand grabbed on the bar above him, he used the momentum and mostly his strength, to launch himself forth. He could almost see the end. The end was so very near, all doused in red because of his red visor. According to Ultra, it made him look "cool". Whatever that word meant.
"I'm trying my best!" Mr. E retorted from his coach's warning. If he couldn't go faster, then what's the use? He will never pass his limits and he will never improve. He had to remember that. The robot grabbed the bar right above him.
"Hah!" He yelped all of a sudden, he almost misplaced his metallic arm. Ultra Violet raised an eyebrow at the sound. She was well aware that just then, he was about to fall. It didn't stop him, he could still go on. This went on for the next five minutes. His palms were all sweaty, his metallic wires were causing friction with one another. He heard Ultra's timer tick off any minute. All too much, what if he truly cannot do it? What if..."Wuah!" The robot let go and found himself landing on his back. The hard stone he landed on was nothing compared to the durability of his man-made torso. Ultra stopped her timer. A disappointed sigh escaped her lips as she mad over to help him up. "I see, you need a lot of training." She informed him. Mr. E couldn't help but agree. Of course, he displayed no emotions since he didn't really have a mouth but he couldn't help but show a bit of sadness after her comment. Was he really just a burden for them? He was helped up by his coach. He muttered a quiet: "thanks." However, what came next was a mention coming from Ultra Violet herself. She threw the timer around her neck down to the ground and cracked her knuckles. "Tell me rookie, you told me that you would show me that you're capable to do a simple obstacle course-" she was stopped by the nindroid.
"Didn't I? If I remember correctly, I had finished the two other courses you set up for me. It was only the bars that I had trouble with. Then again, maybe it was because I'm exhausted." Mr. E puffed up, suddenly snaking back at his coach. It was true, why couldn't she consider that he had tried? He had tried so very hard to impress her let alone, the quiet one. He wanted to impress everyone actually. But he knew that goal was definitely out of reach. He couldn't impress even how hard he tried. There was just...people who expected better from him. Ultra thought for a second before nodding. "Alright fine, I admit. You amazed me. Determination did something to you, heh? But I'll help you on your strength. When you're finished training with me, you'll be able to cross the entire row of bars!" She laughed.
Yet, Mr. E actually seemed fond of her offer. He nodded, a big smile on his face now. It was if his thought from earlier vanished into thin air. Of course, his doubts will surely come back, but not now. No, he won't allow it. "Yeah, thanks. I'd like that." He replied softly. There was a bit of silence between them but that was perfectly explainable. Ultra hit him with a question, a bit more seriously this time. "What's with the sudden determination? Why do you insist on staying in the SOG?" She asked as if both were out on a stage at the moment. It reminded him when him and Ultra first met. When he was first recruited into the SOG.
"My will? I just want to help the quiet one achieve her dream as she did so by fulfilling mine. I want to keep training, to become better so that us, the SOG will be able to change Ninjago city, remind the citizens that those ninja never did anything to help our everyday lives." He narrowed his eyebrows. Ultra stood there for a second, taking in his answer. Wow..it truly did stun her. Yeah it was true that robots were more intelligent than regular human beings. But just that. The fact he wanted to help everyone out, it seemed..almost human.
"That's why I'm fond of you! Rookie! Now come on, again with the bars." Ultra laughed, patting him on the shoulders. Mr. E nodded, he walked off towards the ladder, climbing it all the way and before he could place one of his palms on the bar above him, Mr. E admired the scenery from here. It was like he was not on top of a ladder, but a podium of success.

A/N Oh goodness! It's certainly been awhile right? I published two MCSM oneshots yesterday and I figured I had to do the same with my three dead Ninjago books. However, I'll keep the priorities the same. Ever since I found out COH and Reconciled hearts were my most popular books, I'll keep this book right here low on the updating list. It's meant to be a book that just distracts me from the stress and long-chapter writings like COH, TNBTTV and Reconciled hearts. Hopefully, you guys wouldn't mind! But, if this book does end up getting popular, I don't know...I might have to change my mind. I'll think about it! Would you guys like more updates from Mask of chaos? Comment down below! Alright, this is the end of this A/N. I'll see you guys next time! Goodbye!
