My vision swam into focus.

The first thing I noticed was that I was in Mon-El's lap. I wrapped my arms around him involuntarily.

He looked down and relief flooded his face. He tightened his arms around me. "Kara! I thought I'd lost you..."

I looked straight into his eyes. "I'm right here," I said and snuggled into him. I missed this.

"Kara, I've noticed lately... we don't talk as much as we did before," he said softly.

"Yeah... I mean, what with Alana and all your friends, I totally understand. Thinking they were all dead, that must've been so hard for you. And by some miracle they're alive, and who wouldn't want to spend time with them and make up for lost time?"

"Are you jealous of Alana?" He smirked.

"I-- what? No!" I said quickly. "Maybe..."

Mon-El laughed and I felt my tense shoulders relax. "Kara, Alana's not even straight!"

I stared. "What?"

By now Mon-El was laughing so hard tears were almost coming out of his eyes. Feigning annoyance, I crossed my arms.

"I'm sorry," he said breathlessly after he'd calmed down, then launched right back into a fit of laughter again.

"I had no idea!"

"There is really nothing to worry about. I love you, I will always love you, and I will never love anyone else the same way."

I smiled. "I love you too," I said, and we locked lips for two seconds only to be disrupted by Annie's voice.

"Kara! You're awake!" Annie looked shocked, then regained her composure. "I'm so sorry to interrupt, but I'm just here to tell you that we've arrived." She left the room hastily.

"Arrived where?" I asked.

Mon-El looked at the window of the spacecraft. Following his gaze, I gasped. A blue and green globe was floating in space.

Earth.

The last thing I remembered was making the decision to take a bullet for Mon-El, and when I looked down I saw a tiny wound, getting smaller and smaller every passing second, thanks to the yellow sun. Meanwhile, Earth was getting closer and closer. We were travelling at an incredible speed. Soon, Mon-El and I were forced to let go of each other as we alighted the ship, but he immediately took my hand once our feet were on the ground.

"Kara! I got Mon-El's message, are you okay?" Alex rushed to me as she put an arm around me.

"I'm fine," I assured her.

"Still, make sure to run all sorts of tests on her at the DEO. You can never be too careful," Mon-El said.

"Of course," Alex nodded with respect in her eyes, and it was clear what they were both thinking— that despite their differences, they shared one thing: they both loved me, and would do anything to protect me.
