There's a girl I really like.
She has nice eyes, and a pretty smile.
I like seeing her happy
Because when she's happy, she feels on top of the world.
Like nothing can stop her.She is selfless and kind.
She sometimes puts the needs of others before herself,
But she knows not to do that too much.I like her because of her strength -
She recognises her skills and talents,
She acknowledges her past and accepts her weaknesses.
She strives to improve herself, always,
But not for the sake of anyone else:
She does this all for herself. She is completely different from her former self.
She's been through a lot but it's only made her stronger and wiser.
She reflects on the past but tends not to regret,
Because she knows that will get her nowhere. She is learning a million lessons every day.
She is learning
That it is perfectly okay, healthy even, to think that she is pretty,
That self-confidence is not arrogance,
To always stand up for herself,
Not to be passive,
Not to just grin and bear it when something is wrong,
To recognise her self-worth and the way she should be treated by others,
To give what she gets,
That no one in the world should ever become more important to her than herself,
To be honest,
To be happy,
To be confident,
To be free,
To love herself. She continues to amaze me
And I am so proud of her. That's the girl I really like.
That girl is me.

PoetryThere are a lot of thoughts in my head. Sometimes I turn them into poems. Here's a collection of poems, or miscellaneous pieces of writing, that I'd like to share.
