Marie's pov

Waking up the next day, I am still conflicted on whether or not I should go to work or not. Going back and forth in my head,this early in the morning is already giving me a headache. Should I continue to go to work and pretend that everything is okay? Or should I just stay in my room and lay around pathetically?Sucking it up I decide to just go to work, if I just stay here then,who's ever after me could just get me in my hotel room.

Pulling out some clothes, I through on a black pencil skirt, with a burgundy button-up silk shirt, with some black flats- Mental note, need to go shopping for more clothes-Grabbing, everything that I need for work, and I head to elevator and out of the hotel and hail a cab.Please....please let today go off without a hitch.

Arriving at work, I say hi Angie (Angelina) on the way to Jacks office.

"How is everything going? You've been here for like what a couple of weeks now?" She ask me

"Yeah, everything is going, good so far" I say and give a little wave and head to Jack's office

Gently knocking on the door, I wait before I hear a 'come in' and when I do I stop dead in my tracks at what I see.

Some lady probably in her early thirties, who pulled up a chair to closely to Jack, may I add, "I-I'll come back.......I'm sorry-I didn't know" I stammer out

Turning around , I head back to the door.

"No! Wait Marie, umm could you stay? Remember we have that big case to work on?" He asks

"No, we don't" I retort back and I am kind of wishing that I didn't say that by the look he is giving me

"Yes,we do" And he slides a folder across the table I open it and see the name, Michael Williams

Looking up from the folder, I look back to Jack, "I'll be fine doing this by myself sir" and with that I walk out of his office and to my desk

Opening up the folder, on Mr.Williams, I see that he is being sued for fraud. Mhmm, I say he's guilty, but what do I know I am just an assistant.

Taking out my pencil and notepad, I start to take notes when someone decided to slam their hands onto my desk, looking up, it was the woman from Jacks office.

"Look, I don't know who you are but stay away from Jack, ok he doesn't need someone so poor looking around him got that?" The slutty brunette told me,well demanded as she looked me up and down

Bitch.

"I am not, interested in Mr. Owens, he is my boss after all and this is work hours so could you please leave my desk so I could do my job" I reply calmly

Giving me one more heated glare the 'slutty brunette' finally leaves away from desk and out of the office

"Marie can you come in here for a minute?" Just great what doe he want now?

Getting up from my desk I go back into his office, "Yes sir,You called?"

"Sir? I told you to call me-"

"I know, you don't want me to call you sir because it makes you feel old, but I feel that if I call you, by your first we are crossing professional boundaries"

"Ok well, did she say anything to you?"

"Who?"

"You know who the woman who left my office,what did she say to you?" Why can't he just leave the situation alone?

"She didn't say anything sir"
