LOVE
~Part 2~
Eren's POV
We arrived at the restaurant in good time, getting there for our reservation slot. I'd booked the balcony table, as it was the one with the best view, and the night was perfect. The sun was just setting, and stars were starting to appear in the inky half of the indigo pink sky, looking just like a painting.
I sit down across from Levi as we're led to our table, smiling brightly at him, biting my lip slightly. I take his hand, rubbing the back of it gently with my thumb as we delve into a conversation about his day. A little while later, a waiter shows up with a bottle of Montoya Cabernet, Levi's favourite wine. He pours out two glasses, and I let go of my love's hand so he can drink. We order our food, and resume our conversation.
I really was in love with Levi, and I hoped he would say yes to my proposal. Even if he did say no, of course I would still love him, no doubt about it. The food arrives a while later, and it looks mouthwateringly good. Levi always was a good cook, and I like to think I wasn't too bad myself, but this looked and smelt just incredible. I pick up my fork, taking a bite of the pasta, and my theory was correct it did taste as good as it looked.
I look up at him, and am glad to see he looks like he's enjoying his just as much as I'm enjoying mine. I grin, going back to my meal, occasionally breaking to take sips of the ice water the waiter had placed on the tabe for us.
It takes about half an hour to finish the food, and once we're done, I'm completely full. I sigh softly, looking blissfully at my lover who sat across from me, taking his hand and kissing it gently. I decide it's now or never, I have to do it before I get to nervous and chicken out.
So I get up, walking around to his side of the table and helping him to his feet. By now, the sun had fully set and the sky had melted into darkness, lit up by the bright glow of the pale moon, small twinkling stars littering the inky stretch of canvas. I move over to the balcony edge, which was decorated with fairy lights and small pink and blue flowers, everything was so beautiful. I turn to face him, and take a deep breath, dropping to one knee, smiling up at him.
I reach my hand into my pocket, and pull our the dark velvet box, holding it up.
"Levi Ackerman, you have made me the happiest brat alive for years now, and I want there to be many, many more years. I love you more than anything on this planet, and I would do anything for you. So, I was wondering, would you do me the honour of becoming my husband?"
I open the velvet box to him, showing him the silver and diamond band, grinning at his reaction. He was wide eyed, smiling more than I'd seen in years, in fact, possibly ever. He nods, his eyes watering, and I laugh softly, standing up and wrapping my arms around his waist and picking him up, spinning him round. I smile, pulling away to kiss him for a long moment as we're met by cheers and claps from other patrons. I place him down, taking his hand and sliding the ring onto his finger, not surprised as it fits him perfectly.
I could hardly believe it, I was going to marry the man I love, Levi Ackerman. And by god, was I happy about it. The rest of that night was a bit of a blur, as we had ended up getting a little tipsy when we got home. But when I woke up the next morning, he was snuggled in my arms and we were in bed, and I was glad to see we had gotten into more comfortable clothes. I hug him loosely, not wanting to wake him, kissing all over his sleeping face with a small smile. I look at his hands, which were clutching sweetly at my shirt, and I kiss his knuckles gently. There were small beams of sunlight breaking through the curtains, light scattering across the pillows and sheets, which we were tangled up in. His ring dazzled and sparkled in the bright light, and I smile softly. This was real, not a dream. I was marrying him. And I couldn't wait.
-Six Months Later-
It was here. The day of mine and Levi's wedding. And I was freaking out. I was excited, yes. But so, so nervous. Luckily, we weren't superstitious, so we were able to see each other. I was currently sat in the back room of our home, as were having the wedding in our backyard. We had only invited very close friends and family, as we didn't want a big wedding. Technically, we had already gotten married, as we'd gone to the registry office and done it there, so legally, we were married. But we wanted to have a small ceremony, and so we were doing that today. I was nervous, because I was almost 100% sure I would definitely screw up the vows I had written.
Levi walks into the room and slips his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder. "Calm down, brat. You'll be great. Smile, I love you."
I smile softly and turn to face him, hugging him close. I really did love him, and he hand calmed me, just with that. I press my lips to his, kissing him softly for a short while before pulling away. "I love you too." I state softly with a bright smile and a small laugh. He looked extremely handsome in his suit, and, according to him, as did I.
A short while later, we were standing at the bottom of the garden, under the archway of pretty white flowers, and saying our vows.
"Eren Jaeger, I love you more than you'll ever know. I promise I will always be here for you, through the bad times and the good. I will love you, and only you, for as long as I live. I promise to take care of you to the best of my ability, and to always treat you right."
My face was flushed by the time he finished, and he laughs softly, rubbing the back of my hands with his thumb gently. I take a deep breath.
"Levi Ackerman, I promise to love you forever. I will never harm you, hurt you, or upset you in any way. I promise I will always take care of you, and always be here for you. I promise I will build a family with you, and I will always, always be in love with you. I promise on my life that I will never do anything to disappoint you, or make you sad. And if anyone does harm you in anyway, I promise I'll take care of you and protect you. I love you, so, so much."
I smile at him brightly, and cup his cheeks gently, pressing my lips to his, sliding my hands back into his hair as I kiss him. After a few moments, I pull back and whisper, so only he can hear, "I love you, Levi." My smile grows even wider as I hear him utter those same words back to me. I wrap my arms around his waist, holding him close to me as we head inside with the rest of the people who had come.
Today was one of the best days of my life, and they would just keep getting better everyday. I mean, how could one not have a good life, when they're married to Levi Ackerman.
I was totally, completely, utterly, truly in love him.
