I put the flower in my pocket , so when I started running it wouldn't blow away. I climbed out so fast you would think I was on fire. I ran so fast I could feel the wind blowing against me.

After five minutes of running I saw my house. I snuck to the back of the house where my room is. The window I left open was still opened. I climbed in bed turned on the overhead light and pulled out a book ,and pretended that i was reading.

The door opened and my mom walked in. She hadn't changed out of her work clothes. She had a hand on her hip. I didn't know what she knew so I played dumb and casual.

" Oh hey," I said marking the book so I wouldn't lose the page. " I didn't see you there,".

" Where have you been?" she asked, her eyes never left mine.

" The library," I lied holding up the book.

     " For an hour?"

" Yep just couldn't get enough for these books,".

" Why didn't you answer my calls I was worried about you?"

" I turned off my phone," I answered. " I didn't want it going off in the library,".

" Why didn't you let me know where you were and when you where coming back?" she asked.

" I thought I was going to be there only three minutes , and got distracted and lost track of time," I answered.

" Hmm," she said. " No electronics for the rest of the night,".

     " Don't need them," I said. " I got my book,".

" OK.....," she said. " Night sweetie,".

" Night mom," I said. She left my room and closed the door.

" Phew," I said relieved. I got up and removed the flower from pocket. I smelled it then I put it in my bag. After all that running I am pooped , and I deserve this night of sleeping.
