Z975 (ON HOLD)

Chapter 16

       " I have to what?!?!" I shrieked. 

       Axle had a smug look on his face. " What?" he asked clearly knowing what. " Scared?".

        Heck yeah I am, but I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of knowing I am.

        "No...," I lied. " It's just I am tired from kicking your butt today." Axle gave me an evil look. " And also, I like Spade. I don't want to fight her,".

        " You want in ?" he asked me and I nod. " Then do it. If you decide to fight, we all will be waiting,". He started out the door then added," If your not chicken,".

         I turned to face Michael. " I'm going to die aren't I?" I asked weakly.

         " No your not," Michael said trying to reassure me. " It's not like how you would think it would be. Don't worry I'll explain on the way there. You got this. I believe in you,". He smiled ,and I returned a weak one and a nervous laugh.

         I followed him out the door, and down the torch lit hallway to wherever he was leading me to my doom.

          " So what am I walking into ?" I asked.

          " Your going to be in an arena with Spade. The others and I will be watching you from a hidden window that you won't be able to see. Spade is going to be blindfolded and will be shooting arrows at you,".

          " Wait , arrows?!?! " I interrupted.

          " They won't break through the skin , but if you get hit, a dose of knock out serum will go into your system. You have dodge the the arrows by moving you way through the trees, you'll see when you get in there, and finding the key in them in  five minutes.  You'll then use the key to open up another door to the room where the rest of us will be . Well, we're here,".  We stopped out side of a grey door. " You can do it,".

           He opened the door and pushed me in. I looked around at awe. There's trees everywhere and they go up  high. It doesn't look like I'm in an arena but through the thick trees I see a bit of an iron wall.

          I started to climb up tree ,and stopped once I was hidden behind its leaves. And waited until ....... I don't know what. A bell rang out and Spade's voice came out of what sounded like an old intercom system.

           " My blindfold is on and the clock is starting when I'm done talking. Remember find the key and open the door before the clock ends. And by the way, no hard feelings,".

           Okay, I thought to myself, calm down Z. She is blindfolded, how hard is this going to be. I stepped onto a another branch.

            ZIP!
         An arrow came hurtling where I just was. Okay, very hard. I started to move as quickly and quietly as I could .  I was doing pretty good until a branch I was going to step on broke with a snap and fell to the ground with a thud.

            ZIP!
         Another one came right above my head ,and other to my side.

       " 3 minutes remaining," an automatic voice said.

      I'm running out of time. I have to find the key and get out of here.
         I climbed a little bit and looked around. I saw the key...... which was dangling over Spade's head.

        Great , I thought and let out an angry sigh.

            ZIP!

       I saw one heading right towards me . I closed my eyes and waited for the arrow ,but all I felt was a big thud. I opened my eyes and looked down. The arrow had hit me.  The robot side of me.  The arrow was by my feet.

        I grabbed it ,and with my robot arm i threw it . It struck her in the arm, and she fell to the ground.

        " Yes!" I exclaimed.

        " 1 minute remaining," the automatic voice said. I grabbed the key and jumped down from the tree. I ran behind the trees and started looking for the door. 

      Come on ! Where is it?!?!
         " 10 seconds remaining,". I found the door, and put the key in.  " 9.....8.....7,". I turned the handle and pulled but it didn't budge. " 6....5....4,". What am I doing wrong?! Wait a minute! This time I pushed in. " 3 ...2...,". And stepped into a dark room.

         The lights came on with Michael and a bunch of other people were standing. Michael came up to me.

        " You did it!" he said congratulating me. " See I told you it would be easy,". The others started sayings things like good job and stuff like that.

    I scanned their faces with the feeling of victory.

        " Welcome to the team,". And when Michael said that , and out of the corner of my eye I saw Axle leaving the room out of another door. And it shut with a boom.
