Stone and his friends returned to the deserted village and found that the five Houjiaji's wolves had been waiting for everyone at the village with the newly conquered local wolves. Therefore, people and wolves had built good relationships, understanding, and mutual support.

The weather was getting colder and colder, and snow particles as sand were falling.

Every day, Houjiaji's wolves brought local wolves to come to prove their power to Chunlan. After five days, only four wolves had not found their own families of the wolf. These four wolves were either not brave enough or had been domesticated by Chunlan. In short, These four wolves seemed to be very comfortable with the current status. In the next few days, they just found a broken shack in the village. When they were hungry, they came to look for Stone. They were even lazy to go hunting.

On the eleventh night of the Houjiaji's people coming to this abandoned village, the familiar howling of the wolves was mixed with a lot of unharmonious sounds. The four wolves in the village gathered together and never dared to separate. The horses and yaks were moving their hooves with a scare.

Fortunately, the gaps and grottoes on the wall of this large yard have been filled by the tribes. However, Stone, Chunlan, and Aijiang also arranged everyone to lay a tactical formation of hedgehog shape in the courtyard. Ten high-box carriages were enclosed in a circle, and people hold bows and arrows in the car. The spears were guarded around, and the domestic animals were placed in the middle of the circle.

The four lone wolves outside did not come here to seek refuge, but scattered in other courtyards of the village, responding to the familiar and unfamiliar screams in the distance with squeaking.

That night was very noisy, but nothing happened.

After dawn, the three leaders, equipped with bows and other weapons, rode to the river to patrol and saw some strange wolves along the way, these wolves look thin, but not lost cunning.

Chunlan tried to communicate with these lone wolves through the wolf language. She generally understood that these were the Liao's wolves who ventured to take refuge from the thin iced river.

When Chunlan, Aijiang, and Stone came to the old ferry port, there were a lot of wolf paw prints on the ice, and there were many cracks on the ice, but the ice was not broken. According to these footprints, Chunlan said that there were more than twenty wolves crossed the river from here.

Before the Yellow River came down from the Loess Plateau, most of the coasts were cliffs. Therefore, even if the river was frozen in winter, people and beasts on both sides of the river would prefer to choose the relatively flat terrain on both sides of the river, and the old ferry ports were ideal for crossing the river.

The two girls and one boy rode along the river bank for a long way. They found no beasts on the ice but found two or three local wolf families very respected some wolves transported from Houjiaji. These wolves were wandering around, marking the scope of their territories with urine, hair, paw prints, squeaking, etc.. It was clear that these foreign members were successfully integrated into the local wolves.

Chunlan asked the King wolves of these wolf families for some information. They told Chunlan that many wolves came from the other side yesterday. These local wolf families  accepted some refuge wolves to join them.

The wolf immigration was continuing for three days. There finally appeared a lone wolf who dared to attack people on this peaceful land. Of course, this aggressive lone wolf was quickly killed by the wolves commanded by Chunlan.

After rewarding the wolves who came to the rescue, Chunlan gave orders to all the wolves, as long as they found the smell of human blood on the foreign wolves, these wolves should be all killed immediately.

In the evening, the wolves around the village were denser and violent. People who had a good rest during the day burned more than a dozen fires outside the yard. Some people were kept in the house, some were inside the carriage. Chunlan Stone choose to observe the situation on the roof. After communicating with the wolves in the distance, they went down to sleep to recover their strength.

In the middle of the night, the wolf's howling was very messy, and the unfamiliar roar masked the familiar roar.

When the eastern part of the sky appeared some white color as the fish belly, the three leaders were already up, took the horses, and went out from the yard to inspect what happened last night.

Outside of the village, Chunlan, Aijiang, and Stone found some bodies of the foreign wolves. The four Houjiaji's wolves led nearly 20 lone wolves that had just arrived from Liao kingdom, forming a large family and enjoying two yellow sheep in the village.

The four Houjiaji's wolves were already full, maintaining order around the wolves and directing other members to dine according to the hierarchical position in their kingdom.

Inquired by the wolf language, Chunlan told Stone and Aijiang that there were more than a dozen wolves came from the other side of the Yellow River last night, chasing a group of yellow sheep into their territory.

These wolves all had the smell of human blood. The yellow sheep these lone wolves from Houjiaji were eating were also killed by the foreign wolves. Together with other local wolves, they killed most of the invading wolves, and a small part of the enemy escaped on the ice, back to the other side of the river.

Chunlan and her team members continued to patrol and found some bodies of the strange wolves. They also saw several snow leopards and black bears eating the bodies of these wolves.

The remaining foods in the deserted village were almost finished, and the scorpions on the crowds increased too much. So, Chunlan, Stone and Aijiang decided to let other tribes drive back to the Houjiaji, and as the chiefs of the team, Chunlan, Stone, and Aijiang needed to ride to Xingqing to report the situation to Duke Li.
