Him? I knew him. He looked like a lost puppy. I've rescued many dogs in my day. I know that look when I see it. I rescue dogs on the weekend. Trust me, I know the look.

I was trying to help him adjust. All the teachers got emails. I didn't think it was wise to stick him in all honors classes with no tutor, plus he was on crutches at the time, so I decided to give him a buddy to help him around the school. I live right next door to Yukiko. She's a good kid.

I know it was probably juvenile to stick him with a buddy, but I had to teach all day. If I wasn't busy, I'd help him out myself. I did tutor him in English after school and over the summer. He's quite the intelligent individual. English is a brutal language, but he picked it up quite easily.

I noticed later that he was a troubled individual, but I'm not a psychologist. I'm an English teacher.
