Chapter Two

My father is the leader of a platoon and is one of the highest ranked officers in the government so of course i live in the rich sectors, he almost caught Connor today that stupid criminal, my dad is now seeking medical attention because of him and commander Jones wants me to take over while my dad recovers.

I'm the smartest one in all my classes and in our fighting tournaments i'm undefeated so i guess that's why he wants me to take over, he thinks i have a better chance in stopping Connor with whatever he has planned next.

I'm sitting in class when i hear on the p.a system "Sevanna please report to headquarters" that's what they called our office, I get up and start heading towards headquarters and i see there is a few men waiting for me there, must be at least a small platoon of 4 soldiers one of them was my brother Terence.

"Well you must be Sevanna my name's commander Jones your father is my right hand man " command Jones say to me as he holds his hand out, "It's an honor to meet you sir" i say as i reach out and shake his hand "the honor is all mine young lady, i hear your the smartest and toughest girl in this school?" he says to me as he looks over to my brother, so that's what he talks to him about? Me and how well i'm doing in my classes?

"Well as you know my right hand man is out of combat right now and i need someone to fill his place someone smart and is well trained in hand to hand combat so we can catch Connor and put a end to his madness" he says.

He starts walking out the door and waves for me to follow so i do and the rest of the platoon follow, my brother stays close to me and looks proud of me, "you know not many people get picks to work with this man you should take pride in this moment" he whispers in my ear.

We walk towards the trucks, Terence gets in the first one as the passenger and me and the commander get in the back, i think the other soldier driving is named Thomas, the last two get in the truck behind us and follow us as we head towards where Connor intercepted the weapons shipment.

"I want you to look around and see what you can find that gives us an idea where he went to" commander Jones says to me "i will do my best sir" i reply in a confident tone.

We get to the scene of the crime, i get out first and start looking and scanning the area, i walk over to building with a small puddle of blood, it's a small enough puddle to tell me he isn't fatally hurt but big enough to tell me that he will need to get some medical help with it.

"What'd you find cadet?" Thomas asks me, "well he is hurt not a major injury but he's going to be off his feet hiding till he heals" i reply as i continue to look around, i see a blood trail heading towards the east sector, "Commander!" i yell for him to get his attention, he walks over.

"What is it have you found something?" he asks me like he is excited. "yes sir i have, there is a blood trail heading towards the east sector, if it was my guess he is going back to his home or hideout to bandage up and rest", I say as i look back and see a fish hook and some fish lining.

"sir he has nothing to patch himself up which means he is going to need to find a way to get money and buy some medical supplies" I say as I turn around proud of what i have discovered.

"Good find Sevanna if you keep this up i might have to make you my right hand man permanently" he says with a grin on his face "Thomas get over here!" he orders Thomas over like he is his lap dog, "Yes sir!" Thomas shouts back as he walks over.

"Thomas i want you to go undercover and get the word out that someone is selling some top medical supplies for cheap bucks" he says to Thomas as they both walk away leaving me to keep sweeping the area, i follow the trail a little more.

If he is smart he would've made loops around to throw us off and make us lose his trail not knowing the actual direction he is headed.

Just as i think that he didn't do that i see two trails both heading in opposite places, he isn't working alone someone is helping him, i turn around and start heading back to commander Jones and i see two men blocking my path, great.

I walk towards them not making eye contact hoping they are waiting for someone else, but then they start walking towards me, "he little girl what are you doing in a place like?" one of the men say to me in a creepy tone, I don't reply and keep walking, "hey he asked you a question" the second man says as he grabs my shoulder.

i knock his hand off and turn around "don't you know when you should fuck off?" i say as i look at them both "a young girl like you shouldn't be talking like that" one man say as he reaches to grab me, This time i kick him in the nuts and he drops to the ground in pain.

The other man pulls out a knife "now listen here girl you're gonna do what we say and you won't get hurt" he says as he approaches me.

I back up, he holds the knife with his right hand so i can easily tell he is right handed "you won't even be able to lay a finger on me" i say as i get ready for him to attack, he goes to stab me in my gut but i move to the side and kick the back of his leg as hard as i can, he drops to one knee, he quickly gets back up tries to slice me open but again i dodged it.

he has bad aim and doesn't know how to use the knife in a deadly way so i use this in my favor, he slices high aiming for my neck, i duck underneath and punch his stomach, he gasps and drops the knife, i pick it up and hold it against his throat.

"So you and your friend can either leave and never do this to anyone else or i'm gonna come back here and kill you both next time" i say in a intimidating tone.

"Yes ma'am i promise we won't do this again please don't kill us" he says this almost breaking into tears, how pathetic i turn and walk away taking the knife with me, I see Terence watching me "didn't want to jump in and help your little sister?" Terence laughs "i knew you had that under control" he says back and smiles at me.

Terence is 6 years older than me and has been working with my dad most of his life he is like me very smart and great in combat, i haven't seen him lose a fight ever but i think i could easily beat him, but i wouldn't wanna hurt his ego like that, "come on commander Jones wants us to get the trap set for Connor so we can catch him" he says as he leads us back towards the trucks.
