Labored breathing could be heard with the sound of bare feet slapping on linoleum tiled ground as they ran around nurses and doctors as they made their way towards their destination.
He ran into the room where his younger brother laid unconscious, bandages wrapped tightly around his head and eyes. He ran over to his side and grabbed his hand tightly, scared that of he let go, he might lose him.
"Tsuki, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.........I was supposed to protect you. I failed you," He cried, holding his brothers hand to his forehead as he cried, not caring about the frigidness of the smaller digits.
"....... Tai..........yo......," Croaked out a small, timid voice as they smiled in the direction of their older brother.
"Tsuki!!!!" The boy, now dubbed as Taiyo, cried as he hugged his brother tightly and cried into his shoulder.
"I'm alright," Tsuki said as he comforted his brother with a soft but croaky voice.
"No, you're not! You got really hurt!" Taiyo yelled, pulling away a bit.
Tsuki, unable to look at his brother, let his hands roam until they met his brothers cheeks and hold them gently and brought Taiyos tan face to his own paper-colored one, their foreheads touching now.
"I will be fine, just stay by me, okay? " Tsuki voice cracks as he tries to reign in his emotions.
Taiyo, hearing the fear in his brothers soft, lilting, voice, looked up and into his brothers bandaged over eyes, but closed them as he sobbed and held his brothers pale hands as they both cried.
Ones clear, the other tinged pink as it bled through the bandages.
"I'll protect you even better from now on. You will always be by my side, no matter what."
He nods
