"Maybe we should slow it down on the coffee," Kira began with a soft laugh when Malia had downed her fifth cup. The coyote tipped the caffeine down her throat and furrowed her eyebrows at her. Under Mali's gaze, she felt impelled to explain. "Well, I kinda wanna catch some sleep on the plane, it's been a long night,"
Malia's mouth tugged up into a half smile, which was accompanied with a shrug. She put down her empty cup and slapped her hands on her bare thighs.
"What do you suggest we do?"
"Um.." that's where Kira got stuck.
"Oooooooh!" Malia almost jumped off the couch, "Idea,"
"What idea?" Kira let out a small, nervous huff of laughter. Malia was so unpredictable, so she was a tad worried.
"Come with me," she stood up, in front of her, offering her hand to the girl. Kira gulped, before placing her small hand in Malia's rough one, and let her lead her away.

Malia had told Kira that she would be "like five minutes, I promise" with a wink, about ten minutes ago. She was sitting on a hard, mesh-metal bench in front of a random terminal, desperately waiting for Malia to get back. A sleepy, lanky guy with golden curls and puppy eyes gave Kira a soft smile from the bench opposite her. She forced a smile on, and quickly looked away to begin awkwardly fiddling with her jeans. The boy, well, man, but he looked too young to be in a business suit, gave a small sigh and ruffled around in his briefcase next to him. Kira felt like she had to start speaking to him or something- she dreaded unneeded human contact so that would have been awful. But, before she could over-analyse, two hands were placed over her eyes, and a giggly whisper danced around her ear.
"Guess who?"
Kira laughed, her lips brushing against the girls hands as her mouth turned upwards.
"Ummm..." she pretended to ponder over it, although she knew it couldn't have been anyone else, "Maila?"
"Correct!" she said, gripping the bench for balance as she hopped over the top and plonked herself down on the seat next to her.
"So what was your idea?" Kira asked, turning to face the other girl. Malia completely ignored the question, and drew her legs up to sit cross legged on the metal seat. She pulled out a pack of cards from her backpack she had just set down on the floor, and began shuffling them.
"I don't know how to play poker-" Kira began, edging nervously around in her seat. Malia's head snapped up, holding back a smug grin.
"Kira, it's just snap,"
