your eyes are grey
storms over the sea
your hands are tan
sand on a beach you
can't
forget
your hair shines darkly
bands of stars in a
charcoal haze
your cheeks scatter roses
a sunset and rise dancing
on a sea of butterscotch
your laughter hums
truer melodies than the crusts and
thorns they battered you with - what
made them tear streams
from your eyes? inky swirls
on a dead tree's skin? one word used as
an excuse to say it is
okay to toss you away
to see you as one word and
one word only?
how could
we
not feel the
truth inside us?
you are
more
so much more
than a single
word - false letters cannot
hold you any
more than they could hold
me.
