"Rise and shine," shouted Elena as her and Gunder strode through the hall banging on the room doors waking the recruits. Alexander and Kaleb both fell on the floor in shock when Gunder's big hand hit their door. They looked at each other in bewilderment and then Alexander looked towards the window. The sun hadn't even risen yet. What the hell? He was pissed but none the less he shut his mouth, followed Kaleb's lead and fixed his clothes. They hadn't been allowed to bring anything with them so they were still in the clothes from yesterday. Seconds later along with what seemed like the other eighteen recruits the exited their room and stood in the hall. The watched as Elena walked back along the hall.

"Today you will begin training. You will be given 3 sets of clothes and the ones you're currently wearing will be burnt. You will have to wash your own clothes once a week. You will be given the supplies I mentioned yesterday and you will meet in the dining hall for orientation," she said with a frown. Walking away, she left the recruits staring at Gunder who by the look on his face would take great pleasure in starting their training. Looking at the others, Alexander could see some looking terrified and he didn't blame them. Without saying anything Gunder began walking away and taking a hint they all followed. Tahlia walked with Haman and a few others while Landon and Katherine joined Alex and Kaleb. Kaleb noticing Tahlia's black eye looked at his sister with a grim look on his face.

"You really need to stop fighting," he said.

"She deserved it," she answered through clenched teeth. She was still upset from the night before. Shaking his head Kaleb looked to Landon and Alexander for help but not wanting to get on Katherine's bad side they both looked straight ahead. Alexander might not have been around a lot of women but he knew not to piss one of them off. They exited the room halls and walked through the dining hall where others sat eating. Alexander could feel the stares and hear the whispers but he tried not to pay much attention to them. Secretly though he really hoped they would be able to eat. He was so hungry he could eat a horse. Sadly his hopes were dashed as they were led out of the dining room and into the common area that they had met up with everyone the day before. They stood in a straight line and one by one was given the clothing Elena had been talking about. After everyone received their clothing Gunder spoke.

"Females on one side, males on the other." The group split and waited for further instructions. A woman then approached and motioned for the girls to follow. As their group exited the boys watched wondering what was going on. "Males please follow," Gunder said making them pay attention. They followed Gunder through the exit and in the opposite direction of the girls. After about 10 minutes they came to a pond.

"Clean yourselves, put on one set of clothing and leave your old clothing here. Return the other two back to your rooms and then meet back in the dining hall. You have until the sun has fully risen," Gunder said. All heads turned to look at the sun and Gunder walked off leaving the boys to strip off their clothing and jump into the pond and scrub themselves with their hands as best they could. The water was cold and Alexander thought he would positively die.

"The trick is to keep moving and get out as soon as possible. Use a clean part of your old clothes to dry off," Kaleb whispered to Alexander. Alexander looked at him with grateful eyes and did as he was told. He got out with the rest of the boys dried off and put on a set of clothing similar to what he had seen Selena and the rest of the Legionnaires wearing. There was one small difference. On the sleeve there was a symbol he recognized as the meaning of the number one in the ancient language. He looked up at the sun and from what he was taught at the castle he knew their time was almost up. He grabbed his clothes, Kaleb who had just finished dressing and broke off running to the common room. Alexander's long legs carried him with ease and Kaleb kept up by moving quickly. They opened the door and ran through the common room, the dining hall and then to their room. Thrusting their clothes on their beds they rushed back down, passing other recruits as they did. Landon and Katherine were close behind them along with many others. Their footsteps echoed through the building until finally they got to the dining hall just in time to see Gunder step through the entrance.
