Chapter 30
*Niall’s P.O.V*
“And you’re sure you don’t mind? I mean, if you do mind, I won’t mention anything to her.”
“Ni, of course we don’t mind! Jesus! Why on earth would we mind ey? And there’s no way we’d feel good about leaving her here when anything can happen! Now go and tell her!!” Harry cuts me off, arms crossed over his chest. I nod and grab the car keys, heading out to pick Elle up from the hospital.
I spent the journey to the hospital planning what I was going to say to Elle. I know that she’ll be torn by what I want to do but I can’t see any other way. As I pull into the car park, I quickly scan the area and luckily it seems to be empty. I’ve been paranoid ever since the attack and I swear that I can feel someone watching me. I kill the engine and hot foot it into the hospital, waving at the receptionist on my way past.
When I reach Elle’s room, I glance through the window and see she’s sat on the edge of the bed with her bags ready. I take a deep breath and open the door.
“Hey babe.”
“Hey, you ready to go?” I ask her and she smiles and nods her head frantically causing me to chuckle. “Before we go though, I’ve been thinking.” I say cautiously as I sit beside her on the bed, her smile starts to fade and I can see the worry in her eyes.
“Go on.” She encourages.
“Well we go on tour again next week and I don’t want to leave you here on your own. I mean I know you won’t really be on your own but I couldn’t bear to think that something could happen again and I could be even further away than an hour plane ride and I know I’ll be on edge the whole time. So I spoke to the boys and they’ve agreed. We want you to come on tour with us.” I ramble and she breathes out a sigh of relief as I’ve finished.
“That’s it?” I stare at her, puzzled by her reaction. I thought she’d shoot the idea down because of her sisters and uni but the only response is a sigh?
“I thought you were going to break up with me!” She explains as I vigorously shake my head. No way could I break up with my princess!
“So are you going to come?”
“I don’t know Ni,” here it comes, “I’d love to but what about university? And the girls? I couldn’t leave them. What if something happens to them?”
“You can do distance learning for the theory parts of your modules and we can hire a tutor to cover the practicals. And the girls will be fine. Simon’s got 24 hour security for them and is looking into moving them to a house somewhere else in the area.”
“You’ve really planned this out haven’t you?” I nod in reply.
“You don’t have to give me an answer yet, as long as we know by the end of the week so we can arrange everything. Just think about it please?” I beg and she nods before saying she’ll think about it.
“Can we go now? I really want to get out of here!” I nod and pick up the bags in my one hand, taking hers in the other as we walk out to the car park, waving goodbye to the receptionist.
When we reach the car, Elle stops and tugs my hand back, turning around I take in her startled expression, slowly I follow her gaze and my heart almost stops as I see a hooded figure run into the distance. My gaze lowers to the car and I see that the tyres have been slashed to shreds, the door on the driver’s side has been ripped off its hinge and all the windows have been smashed in.
“What the fuck?” I yell, dropping the bags and using that hand to tug at my hair in frustration.
“Are you okay sir? Madam?” A nurse who seemed to be on her break, asks kindly. I almost laugh at the irony of her having a lit cigarette in between her fingers yet the hospitals try to discourage smoking.
