Roman was sick, and he knew it. He couldn't breathe, his mouth felt dry, his whole body ached. It felt like someone was hammering on the inside of his skull. And yet, here he was, out in the garden, practicing his sword fighting. He knew it was a bad idea, but he just couldn't bring himself to lay around all day.

"Roman? What are you doing out here?" A familiar voice called out from behind him.

Virgil.

Shit. He'd been caught.

He turned to face the anxious side, feeling exhaustion begin to weigh on him like a ton of bricks. The side in question already looked irritated with him.

"Why are you out here? You look like death." The shorter male questioned.

"Well for one, I'm simply practicing, my dear. What's wrong with that? And secondly, how dare you?!" He replied, acting as if he was offended. "I'll have you know I spent an hour and a half getting ready this morning, and I look amaz-" He was cut off by a serious of painful coughs, they wracked through his body, leaving him breathless.

The darker side immediately rushed to him, gathering the weak prince into his arms. "We're getting you inside." He muttered. He looked deeply worried, especially when the prince only gave a feeble groan as a protest. He shook it off, instead focusing on getting the sick male inside.

After a few minutes, Virgil had managed to drag the prince up to his room despite his many protests and pathetic attempts at fighting back. After laying him on his bed, he was able to get his first good look at the male. His face was flushed red, small beads of sweat rolled down his face. His eyes looked hazy and unfocused. He was clearly ill. Virgil bit the inside of his lip. He hated seeing the fanciful side in such a state.

"You shouldn't work yourself so hard. Why can't you just take a day off for once in your life? You had me worried sick." He spat, though there was obvious concern laced in his voice.

"I don't want to lay around all day, Stormcloud. It makes me feel lazy. And you know that if I let Patton know I was sick he wouldn't let me leave my room for a week. Besides, I wanted to practice, get some fresh air." Roman stated as he reached for the dark side's hand.

Virgil flushed a little at the nickname, even though he had heard it a million times before. He had to admit, the prince was right. If Patton found out, he would fuss over Roman 24/7 until he was better. He took the creative side's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Alright. You win this time... But next time you're sick please come and tell me... You can't keep doing this to yourself." He placed a soft kiss on the taller man's temple, before standing up to go get him some medicine. This, of course, earned a shrill whine from the prince.

"Please don't tell Patton! I don't want to be cooped up in here!" Roman said, keeping a tight grip on the anxious side's hand.

Virgil sighed, a small smile forming on his face. "Relax, Princey. I'm not gonna tell him. I'm just going to grab you some medicine."

And with that, he walked out, ignoring the protests from the sick side. He made his way to the bathroom and searched through the medicine cabinet until he found the medicine he was looking for, also making sure to get a glass of water.

Then suddenly, there was a sharp cry from down the hall, followed by the sound of Roman whining. Patton must have found him. Virgil shook his head, a slight chuckle escaping his lips as he headed back to Roman's room.

"I'm fine, Padre! I swear..!" Roman whined as Patton placed his hand on his forehead to feel his temperature.

"Yeah, he's okay Patton. I'll take it from here. Okay?" Virgil said, giving the fatherly trait a reassuring smile.

Patton hesitated for a moment, before giving in. "Okay... But you kiddos come to me if anything happens! Got it?"

"We got it, don't worry." stated Virgil. Happy with the reply, Patton made his way out, but not without once again telling the two to come to him if they needed anything. Virgil couldn't help but smile at the fatherly trait's actions. He cared a lot about everyone, and that was nice.

Shaking the thought from his head, Virgil turned his attention back to the prince. He gave him the medicine and the glass of water. Roman took the medicine, then turned to the dark trait.

"Just for that, you have to cuddle with me." He grinned, thinking he was being clever in his blatant begging for attention.

"Hey, I didn't have anything to do with that... But who am I to turn down cuddles from my boyfriend?" Virgil said, climbing up into the bed and wrapping his arms around the sick side, who promptly returned the gesture.

By this point, Roman could no longer deny how exhausted he was. He allowed his eyelids to droop shut and fell into a deep sleep within no time, knowing that when he woke up, his love would be right there with him.

Ahhh! This was so fun to write! I'm sorry if it's bad, as it's my first time ever doing anything like this. I hope you all enjoyed though! Feel free to give me advice on what I could do better. I'm always looking for ways to improve my writing. That's all I have for now! Thanks for reading! -Emerald
