Lesson 1

TRIGGER WARNING

"Are you ready for lesson 1?" She said picking me up off the floor. I just shook my head"

"Alright, lesson 1, since your eyes are gone, which is normal around here. We are going to go over a map for the blind around the house. Right now we are right here" she grabbed my hand and took my first finger and put it down on an X feeling shape.

"This is where we are right now, it is your bedroom. Right here is the hallway, that's why it feels like feet in two lines"

It did feel like that. I am guessing it was supposed to be me walking in a hallway. "Ok, so this is my room?" "Yes, it is but soon you will be sharing, we will talk about that in lesson 2" I was confused but went along with it.

We went over the rest of the nap covering where the bathroom, masters room meeting room etc. For about an hour I guess.

"Lesson 2 will be tomorrow at 10 am, here is a watch that makes different sounds that mean different things, it will also be apart of lesson 2" she walked out and I felt the watch.

It was soft and furry. I felt the back and it popped open. Something fell out of the back. It was paper. I opened it and it was the map.

I got up with just the paper. Every step I took I moved my finger up one. I felt the door and walked out. I reached the bathroom, or was it masters room?

I opened the door and something beeped really loud. I froze in my tracks and I heard masters voice."
"What are you doing?" His deep voice said. "Nothing," I say whimpering a little.

"What is that I see?" He grabs the map out of my hands and I move my head around as if I was looking at things.

"Hm, so Madison thaught you lesson one?" "Yes, s-sir?" I said it more like a question. "Yes you call me sir or master nothing else; but also know that there will be 10 lessons, understand?" I shook my head cause I know he has eyes. At least I think.

I don't know why at all they took away my eyes and why they did it so violently. This place is crazy and not normal. I wish I could just escape but I can't. Madison never mentioned any exits on the map.

I was sent back to my room and it took a while. I banged into the wall a few times and stubbed my toe into the corner of the wall. I felt around for a bed in my room and eventually found it.

The room isn't that big but it still took a while. I took off my dress and had shorts and a tank top left on. I tried to remove the mask but it felt like something was holding down the sides.

I laid on my back and thought about how it would be if I still had eyes, if I had a normal life. I tried not to think sadly because I didn't want to cry. It was too painful physically and mentally.

I thought about how my family is doing. Last time I saw my parents was when I rushed past them with my makeup bag after breakfast. Their faces were hard to remember. At this point, I couldn't remember what a lot of things looked like because I can't imagine stuff the same way without eyes.

It's almost as if my eyes were apart of having memories. I always heard how blind people forgot what people looked like and I could never relate. But now I am in a much, much worse situation.

I soon fell asleep thinking about my family. I had a dream where I didn't go to the bar that one night. Me and family and I were eating dinner and my brother was throwing food off his plate. I made a joke and I laughed. All the sudden the window broke.

I woke up after that sweating. I just wanna go home, I whispered to myself as I heard footsteps coming towards the door.

I quickly laid down as if I didn't wake up and was still sound asleep.

I heard the footsteps retreat back to the door. It sounded like heavy boots and so I thought it was master.

I woke up and it was still dark. I was hoping that it was all a dream and I would see the sun again but it was still plain old darkness. I got dressed, grabbed my map and walked towards the chair and sat down, my watch beeped.
