After this morning with Ingrid and McKenzie, I thought of Summer a lot. Not that I don't think of her, just, I have thought about her more than usual. When it is time for lunch, I notice I forgot to make my lunch this morning. So I have to order. The food here is terrible. I forgot to have breakfast this morning, so I am starving. I probably should not order. I look at the menu. Cheese Burgers. Then, I look at what they are serving. It looks...green. Call me colorblind, but I swore I saw green food. So, I skip lunch.

Since I arrive late, as usual, there are no spots for me. Ever since Summer disappeared, everyone started avoiding me, like they would catch a ride on the depression train or something. That is how Summer's friends became McKenzie's.

I look around for a place to sit. Then, I see a part empty table on the other side of the cafeteria. I take a seat on the other side, away from them. Then, I see someone slide to my side across from me.

"Is your name Winter?" asks a girl.

"Yeah," I reply.

"I am April." She puts her hand out to shake. I shake it.

"Are you the one with the dead sister?" asks one of April's friends.

"Don't speak of that," says April.

"Sorry." says the friend.

"So...you want to be friends?" asks April.

"Friends?" I ask. "No one wants to be friends with me,"

"I do," says April.

"Sure," I say.

"You wanna come to my house after school today?" asks April.

"Sure," I say. I finally have a friend for once. I haven't had a friend since Summer. She was the best friend anyone could ever have. "You know my sister, Summer?"

"I knew of her," replies April.

"Yeah. She was the best person in the world. She was always so brave and creative and talkative." I say.

"I am sure."

"Do you believe she is dead?" I ask.

April shrugs. "Depends on how she died."

"It is a mystery. No one knows." I say. "She disappeared in the woods."

"Sounds like fun,"

"To disappear in the woods?" I laugh.

"No! To solve her mystery!" whispers April.

"Officials already did that," I say.

"I am betting we can do it better," She nudges me.

"Maybe another time,"

"We have to do it though!" says April.

"Alright," I say.

"So, my house later?" she asks.

"yeah! Sounds good."

The rest of the day I am just waiting for 2:10. I am only in 7th period, though. Consumer technology. We are doing sewing when the intercom goes off. 'Ms. Bourn?' they ask.

"Yes?" asks Ms. Bourn.

"Can Winter Hart come to the office, please?"

Ms. Bourn looks at me. "Okay, she will be right there!"

I get up from my seat, wondering why I am going to the office. I could be in trouble again. Not like I did anything, though. Maybe I am leaving school early? I shrug and continue walking. I notice there is a line of cars out front. I wonder where they came from. There is a sign that strictly says 'no parking' on it.

I walk into the office. "Are you Winter Hart?" some dude in a black suit asks.

"Maybe, why?" I question.

"We were looking through our files, and we saw the 'Summer Hart case'. It has not been solved, correct?"

"Um...I guess?"

"We can solve it. We have a lead no-one else did. You."
