I wake up, and instantly check the date on my phone. March 2. The day before my Panic! At The Disco concert. Panic! At The Disco. Don't get me started. I've been a fan of the band since A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. It was 2011 now, 6 years since I started listening, and I was going to my second Panic! concert. This one was different though. Some of the members had left, so there were some new people in the band, one of which being Dallon Weekes. Ever since he joined I absolutely loved the guy. Like, he's so handsome. Big bisexual energy, am I right?
I was going to stay over at a hotel nearby the venue so I could be there somewhat early, even though there were probably people camping outside of the venue since last week. I threw on a T-shirt and skinny jeans and didn't bother to shower, since I could when I got there. There was a knock on my door and I went to check who was there. It was a girl named Kellie. She was my age, and just moved into the same apartment complex as me. Her blonde hair was messy, like she'd just woken up, and she was just in a shirt and some sweatpants. We were good friends, and she stopped by to visit quite often.
"Hey Ry!" She said with a smile. "Already dressed, hm?"
"Yep." I smiled as I invited her in.
"My shift doesn't start until noon so I can stay for a while." Kellie worked at a Starbucks in a book store, and I often stopped by to say hi or just get coffee since she gives me a discount. She seemed to always be tired whenever I did stop by.
"Sooo..." She asked, "Why're you dressed so early?"
"I have a concert tomorrow, and it's pretty far away, so I'm staying in a hotel overnight."
"That's so cool! Who are you seeing?"
"Panic! At The Disco." I answered.
"You're so cool. You go to concerts, dye your hair and play drums and stuff. I could never."
"Ppfh. Thanks," I laugh. "I'm not that cool, though. Most of the time I'm crushing on celebrity guys in my bedroom."
"Same. At least when I get the chance to." We both laugh. "Need help packing?"
"Yeah," I answer, "I've only really packed my clothing and shit so maybe you could help me with the other stuff?" Kellie nodded and we went into my bathroom to grab some bathroom stuff. I packed it all into a small bag and slipped it into my larger backpack.
"Welp," Kells said. "I should be getting ready."
"See ya!"
"Bye!"
It was a few hours after Kellie left and I felt that I should start driving down to the hotel, since it was two hours from my apartment. I grabbed my keys, my bag, and a light jacket, and walked down to the lobby and to the parking lot. I unlocked my car and opened the door, putting the key in. Then I drove a two hour drive to the hotel. The whole way I listened to Panic's music so I could hype myself up for the concert.
I stopped at a rest stop and got myself some coffee and a cookie at the small Starbucks at the stop. It was strange getting coffee from someone who wasn't Kellie. It was even weirder not chatting with anyone waiting for my drink. There were usually people who talked to me while I waited and when there wasn't Kellie did. They had claw machines so I figured I'd try it while I waited. I didn't get anything other than some childhood nostalgia. Soon I was back on the road, only about an hour left until I got to the hotel.
After that hour my gps stopped, and I got out and signed into the hotel. After I slid the card in the door and got inside I put away my stuff and took a nap. It was a pretty long nap, since I woke up the next day. I mean I did go to sleep at one in the morning yesterday, and it was like five now. Someone was trying to put their card in the slot, which was what woke me up. Always when I go to hotels I keep the blinds and things off so no one can look inside. Maybe that's why they thought it was their room? I opened the door slowly, and who else did I see but Brendon Urie himself, trying to open the door. The other band mates were behind him, Dallon and Spencer. I almost started fangirling. This was the band I've loved since their beginning standing right in front of me.
"Oh, shit. Sorry." Brendon hesitated. He was surprisingly shorter than me by a few inches. He always looked like he would be taller than me but he wasn't. Dallon was pretty tall, which I had already known.
"It's fine. I'm actually seeing you guys live today," I said with a smile.
"Cool." Dallon said. "I'll try and throw you a pick if I see you." He smiled back at me. My idol smiled at me. I felt like screaming.
"Sorry again." Spencer apologized.
"No no no, it's fine." I smiled. "Can I get a picture?" They said yes and I took a selfie with them.
"See you tomorrow." Dallon said, as he waved. Then the door closed, and I went to lay back down. How did this just happen? I've just met my idols! I felt like running around screaming like a twelve year old, but I didn't. Instead, I lied down in bed thinking about how Dallon smiled at me. He smiled at me. God. I feel like I'm really creepy for fangirling so much even though I'm an adult, but I couldn't help it. It was so real that it couldn't be fake. I decided to call Kellie to tell her what just happened. It was so unreal. Everything was.
"Hey Ry!"
"Guess what?" I said.
"What?"
"I just met Panic! At The Disco."
