Huntress x fem!survivor!reader

Trigger warning: blood and wounds but I guess it's to be expected. Sfw.

Hope you will like this have a nice read!

You were forced playing some kind of sick cat and mouse game, a bloody and merciless one where survival and teamwork was the key, forced to help one another even though you never met those people before. Yet you kept going, a fire still lit inside you, the hope of getting away from all this one day, to escape from those endless trials and bloodthirsty killers. Never did you actually think you would ever feel something for one of them...

It all had started with a simple exchange of stares. You didn't know for how long you had been stuck here now, time was such a feeble thing in this realm, you had stopped trying to count days and hours.

It was a difficult trial, already one person had been sacrificed, another got killed by the killer, leaving only you and Feng. Only one generator left and you could be out of this hell hole... You were currently working on it, and, lucky you, you hadn't been hurt not even once. Didn't even see the killer... Even though you heard her peculiar lullaby, the huntress was one you could easily guess as soon as the trial began. You were almost finished, the generator slowly but surely making noises, sweat rolling on your forehead and your face looking focused as ever. Maybe a little too much.

You nearly had no time left when you finally heard the peculiar whistling of a hatchet. It was close. Much too close. In a matter of mere second, you tried getting away from the generator, making it explodes in the way, but the weapon striked right at your left leg, making you howl in pain.

You tried running without even looking behind you, not daring enough to stare at death in the eyes, but the pain was so intense you staggered pathetically in the mud, the smell of blood and dirt getting to you. Your breathing was hard to control and reluctantly, you turned to see what was awaiting you.

She was there. A few meters away. She still looked imposing and so much taller than you. Her lullaby was so loud it felt like having headphones with max volume. You stood there, frozen, eyes wide, like a deer in the headlights. Her arm was raised, hatchet ready to go and do it's deadly deed. Your eyes met and for a moment it felt like time stopped.

It felt like an eternity, like time was suspended in this murderous moment. There was something behind this mask. There was someone. Something in those widened eyes. Pity? Surprise? Sadness? Perhaps for a moment she realised you weren't much of a prey but an actual being, just as you actually pictured her as a person too.

She lowered her arm, and you released a breath you didn't notice you were holding. Your eyes started watering and your body was lightly shaking from the shock and emotions. She tilted her head at you. Curious. Maybe even interested. You don't know what caught her attention but you were surely thankful for it. Her mouth opened, perharps to say something, but a loud noise resonated through the forest, crows flying and time occuring once again.

The huntress tensed, apparently realizing that there was still another survivor here and that she was surely trying to open the exit gate. She gripped her axe, looking at you for one more minute, her mysterious gaze stuck on your shaking and hurt figure but she finally turned, not looking back, leaving you dumbfounded and... might you say mesmerized? Surely this won't be the last encounter with the mysterious huntress...

And to be honest, you were looking forward to it...
