Skyler's point of view
It was currently 7:40 a.m. when I arrived to school. Didn't want to be late for my first day as a freshman. I was really excited to see what school would bring this year. *Notice the sarcasm;)*
I headed over to my locker and grabbed my books that I would need for my classes. Looking around I tried to see if there was anyone I recognized. Specifically to see if Jake was around. I didn't know if he had enrolled to the same high school as me for he said it was a surprise.
Smiling like a fool, at the thought of him surprising me, I walked over towards my first period class, but stopped mid way for what I saw shocked me.
There he was, standing tall with a smirk splattered across his face. It looked as if he had been working out too for I almost hadn't recognized him if it wasn't for his smile.
I saw him look towards my direction. My heart raced for I was speechless. However, one thought troubled me. It seemed as if he was looking at me, but straight through me. As if I was a ghost standing in front of him.
He stalked his way towards me, his smirk not once leaving his face. I ignored the cold feeling I had gotten earlier, and smiled. I was about to say something, but stopped when he spoke first.
"Baby, I missed you so much!" I was really confused. Baby? He never called me that before? Sure we've had lots of nicknames for each other but he's never called me that as far as I remember.
"Uhh heyy Jake---" I managed to say but was cut off with another voice.
"Awww I missed you too! Do we have any classes together babe?" I hadn't even realized that Jake was now behind me hugging another girl. Their words rang through my mind. Baby? Babe? What's going on???
I was so lost in my thoughts I hadn't realized that the girl he was with was talking to me.
"Hellooo? I'm talking to you! You freak why do you keep staring at us like that!? Ugh forget it, you are not worth my time." She said intertwining her fingers with Jake's and turning around about to leave.
I was not the type of girl who would let others push me around and let them say mean things to me. I stood my ground and walked up to the girl Jake was with.
"Excuse me? Were you talking to me? Cuz if you were I'm sorry but I didn't realize it. Since you were calling me a freak and all that. You better show me some respect little girl!" I exclaimed at her not realizing how upset I was getting.
"Wow excuse you! I can talk to whoever I want however I want!" Rolling her eyes she turned to Jake and whined "Jakey can you believe her? She's being so mean to me! I don't even know who she is! Do you!?"
I scoffed and smiled awaiting the big surprise she will receive when Jake would say that yes, he does know me, and that we are best friends, then he would defend me and---
"No. I don't know who she is."
Is all I heard before they walked away.
At that moment I felt the most awful feeling ever. Besides being gravely hurt I felt:Betrayal.
