"the world was on fire and no one could save me but you
it's strange what desire will make foolish people do
i'd never dreamed that i'd meet somebody like you."

VICTORIA STEPPED OUT her car and slammed the door. Sighing, looking up at the restaurant, she muttered under her breath before walking towards the front door of the restaurant.
As she walked into the building, everything seemed to slow down, allowing Victoria to realize the decision she had made to leave her home.
She wasn't regretting the decision, no, she was actually happy that she decided to choose herself for once. She has always chose everyone else over her own being.
"Victoria?" A voice startled Victoria out of her thoughts and she turned around to face a blonde girl with big brown eyes. "Is that you?"
Victoria smiled once she realized who the blonde was. "Sookie?" She let out a loud squeal and pulled the older girl into a hug. "How are you? I haven't seen you for years."
Sookie smiled, the gap between her teeth more noticeable now, but Victoria didn't mind, the gap was actually kind of adorable. "I'm fine as can be, sweetie," she said, pulling back from the hug. She tilted her head and her eyes widened. "What happened? Your mind is frantic."
Victoria frowned and took a step back. She had totally forgot that she could read minds. "Oh, erm..." The brunette trailed off, fiddling with her hands now. "Can we not talk about this right now? I just want to forget everything that happened. And please don't read my mind," she begged the blonde.
Sookie sent her a sympathetic smile. "Okay." She then looked over the brunettes shoulder. "Sam!"
"Sam?" Victoria questioned before turning around to face the older man who she had used to have a crush on when she was last here. "Sammy!"
She ran towards the older man who put down the tray he was holding and caught the younger girl when she threw herself on him.
"Vic?" The older man whispered as he hugged the smaller girl against his body. "How are you?"
The girl looked up at him with big doe like eyes. "I'm good as I can be after the past year and a half I've been through." She ran her hands through his hair. "I see that you got some gray."
Sam Merlotte chuckled and took a step back from her. "I'm old, Vic, of course I got some gray's."
"You're not old," Victoria disagreed, tilting her head. The smile on her face grew once she saw the fierce Tara Thornton walking towards her. "Tara!"
"Oh, my god! Girl, I haven't seen you in forever!" The dark skinned girl shouted, pulling Victoria into a bone crashing hug that left the brunette feeling loved.
Back in Mystic Falls, Victoria didn't hug much and she was never thanked for anything she ever did. She always put others above herself and that was proven when she sacrificed herself to the almighty Klaus Mikaelson who was more than just a vampire.
You see, the Mikaelson's might be the original's, but they're are the originals of Type B vampire's. The first ever vampires - Type A - had come out to the world two years ago while Type B vampires stayed hidden. There was no need for both types of vampires to come out to the world - it would not end up good.
"Well, I'm here and I'm not leaving any time soon," Victoria told the older dark skinned girl. "I'm happy to be here, it's a breath of fresh air."
"Well, you bitch, I'm glad you're here," Tara said, smiling. "I bet Lafayette will be, too." She turned her head towards the kitchen where her cousin is seen cooking. "Lafayette!" She shouted, making him jump and turn to them.
"Hooker!" Lafayette shouted, throwing down his spatula and apron before running towards Victoria. He picked her up and spun her around, laughing.
"Motherfucker!" Victoria screeched, hugging her gay bestfriend. "I missed you, Laf."
"I missed you too, bitch," he said, running a hand through her soft brown curls that hung down below her breasts. "You look different."
Victoria lost her smile a little, but she tried to not let that show. "Well, I'm me and no one else."
Lafayette hummed, pursing his lips. "I got to get back to work, but once I get off, we is catching up." He pointed his finger at her before strutting away.
Victoria smiled and turned back around to face Sookie. "How's Gran?"
Sookie smiled. "She's fine. She'll love to see you again." Her brown eyes glanced around the young girl. "Where's Elena and Jeremy?"
Victoria sighed, biting her lip. "Back at home," she said, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I'll explain why I'm here later, but, you have to get back to work before Sam fires you. I can see him glaring from all the way over here."
"Okay, but we'll talk later." The younger Stackhouse ran off to do her job while Victoria took a seat at a table, getting ready to order some food.
VICTORIA LET OUT a breath when she looked around the table she sat at. Sookie, Lafayette, Tara, and Sam all awaited for her to tell her what happened to make her come all this way.
"Sook..." The brunette trailed off, grabbing the blonde's hand. "We're not really cousins. Not in the way we thought, anyway." The blonde opened her mouth to speak, but Victoria continued before she could do so. "Elena and I are adopted. Miranda and Grayson were not our parents."
"What?"
"Yeah... instead, our parents are not what anyone expected. Our mother is our new history teachers ex wife who killed herself in front of Elena and I." They all gasped and gave her sympathetic looks. "And our fucking father is John..."
"Uncle John?" Sookie askes in disgust. "I hate him!"
"We all did," Victoria agreed, rubbing her forehead. "He, um, he actually sacrificed himself to save my life."
"So, both your biological and adoptive parents are dead?" Sookie askes softly. "I'm so sorry that Jason and I couldn't make it to Miranda and Grayson's funeral." There was tears in her brown eyes.
"It's fine," Victoria muttered. "And, uh, Jenna was mur—murdered," she stuttered out, tears stinging her eyes.
"Oh, my—" Sookie started sobbing, pulling Victoria into a hug, both of them full on crying now. "I am so sorry I wasn't there for you. And I'm so sorry that you've been through so much."
"It's fine," Victoria muttered into her not-cousins neck.
"It's not, hooker," Lafayette spoke up, making everyone turn to him.
"Lafayette is right," Tara said, laying a hand on the girls shoulder.
"Losing people is never easy, Vic," Sam said, giving the girl a soft look. "If you need anything, I'm here. We're all here for you. We'd do anything for you."
Victoria forced a smile. "You guys don't need to do that, I'm alright." She then stood up from the table. "I'm really tired, I just drove hours upon hours to get here."
"Okay, I'll drive you to Gran's," Sookie said and stood up, as well.
