Begginnings

- around 4 in the afternoon -

18 year old Huey Freeman sat on the couch in the living room , as usual reading a book . His 16 year old brother , Riley Freeman , sat on the floor infront of the tv playing video games . Their Grandad , Robert Freeman was sleeping upstairs .

A knock came to the door . Both brothers looked at each other . None of them wanting to get up from their comfortable spots . A second knock came to the door and Huey , deciding to be the mature one , sighed and stood up to go open it .

Huey opened the door to find his bestfriend Jazmine Dubois . Huey thought of her as annoying and naive when they were younger .

She grew out of that stage , now being a mature 18 year old woman. She had a light caramel complexion and dangerous curves that any man would drool over . She was pretty short compared to Huey .(5'5)Her hair still in its usual poofy state , had grown longer and more curly . Her eyes , still their beautiful unique shade of green were shimmering at the sight of her bestfriend . To say she didn't have a crush on the afro wearing boy would be an understatement .

Huey , still sporting his dark brown afro , had gotten taller (6'0) and more muscular . He had beautiful Maroon eyes , well toned light brown skin and a 6 pack from all of his Karate training . He would make every girl faint over how handsome he was . He had grown a little crush towards his bestfriend but he also had a crush on his other friend Imani .

"Hey Huey . Can I come in ? " said Jazmine

"Hey." Huey said in his usual monotone voice , moving to the side to let Jazmine in . He walked back to his spot on the couch . Jazmine in tow . Jazmine had noticed Riley sitting on the floor .

" Hi Riley ."

" Yo wadupp! " Riley answered back not taking his eyes off his video game .

Riley still had his cornrows but they grew longer . His skin complexion was the same as Huey's . He had Maroon eyes just like his brother . He was also tall (5'9) and muscular . Not as muscular as Huey but muscular .

Jazmine sat next to Huey. Disliking the uncomfortable silence in the room , Jazmine decided to break the silence .

" Hey Huey?."

" hmm? " he answered quite irritaded because she disturbed his reading time .

" Can you come with me to the mall ? " she asked .

" No." Huey answered bluntly .

" Why? "

" Because Jazmine , i don't feel like going and that's final . " he scolded at her.

Jazmine felt a little hurt because her bestfriend didn't want to spend time with her , but she decided to stop bugging him .

" Well ok ." was all she said before standing up and heading for the front door .

When she was out of the house Riley snickered .

Huey turned to his brother and asked ,

" Why are you snickering ? "

" 'Cause yous a gay-ass nigga . She obviously wanna spend time witchu and yo gay-ass self just gon blow her off . Man how you gon get a girl by being all negative and shit?"

Huey realized that what Riley had said was true but decide to defend himself .

" Riley , i told her i didn't want to go . It's not a big deal . Plus , she has Cindy to go with and for the last time , im not Gay ."

" Man , whateva ."

The truth was that he was going to go to the library with Imani later and he really didn't feel like going anywhere else .
