As I walked down the familiar street, bakers Lane, i looked around smelt the fresh air and the smell of all the flowers. I usually do this until I walk past the largest house on the street, this house was owned by the Williams, they where one of the richest families in Sydney. My family was middle class, however we did live a good lifestyle on this street. Suddenly I heard my phone buzzing in my pocket, I pulled it out of the bottom of my jackets pocket and opened my messages.

Hey dude, we have the science project to finish.

New message:

Ok, I just got an invite to Lily's party, I bet I'm going to be used, just saying, people like us don't fit in with people like the, the popular kids. Plus I'm pretty sure Lily's dating that guy called Ashton, he's in our math class, so we have like no chance with her :(

Ok bye.

I suppose after that I just had to answer, I kind of had a little, just a little crush on Lily Williams I nearly cried when I read this, because I always thought that there would be a chance that she would fall for me

But now I know that it will never happen. Because I'm Calum Hood, I'm no Ashton Irwin. I hesitated but I replied to Luke's text.

Come to my house in 5 so we can finish the project. Remember it has to be fantastic because we have to get straight A+'s all the way through high school ;)

I pressed send on that last message and I waited for Luke's reply, it came almost instantly.

Sure come as my plus one yay! But remember you have like no chance with Lily right!?

Ok I'm on my way, just so you know, Lily's never ever going to fall for a straight A+ student! but you never know. As was straight C's last year :(((((

I wasn't happy when he said that, but after all this is Luke and Luke is like that, if I want a chance with Lily, I have to never give up.

After Luke's second message I was thinking why the 'nerds' are never with the hot, popular girls / guys, like you would think a popular girl would want a smart guy, so he can get rich, and she doesn't need to work. But I suppose that's gold digging.

By he time I got to my house, Luke was already waiting at the door, I yelled out to him,

'Luke you know there is a key under the mat right? Ugh you could just go in, mum doesn't mind!'

I yelled across the fence, something's I wonder about that boy.

We get to work on our project about climate change, I find it very interesting. I find it interesting how some people don't believe that climate change is happening, but clearly scientific research shows that climate change is real, and it's happening.

Woah now I know why Lily hasn't fallen for me. Imagine dating me and all my climate change talk, I certainly wouldn't date myself.

'Ok Luke, so what do I wear to the party?'

I ask out of nowhere.

'Um clothes, clothes would be nice.'

Luke joked.

'Very entertaining Lucas'

I snapped back at him, I was hopping that it wasn't a themed party, but he gave me nothing absolutely nothing.

'Hey my name is Luke not Lucas, you have known me since year 7 I think you would know my name'

Luke snapped, he hated being called Lucas, I know it's not his name, but you know it gets his attention.

'Well tell me what I wear to the party and I'll stop calling you Lucas, Lucas'

I replied.

'Ok, so it's casual, but popular casual, not nerd casual ok. And make sure you look hot, I'll get my brother to do your hair...'

Luke mumbled

'Thanks Luke'

I kindly told him, I actually called him by his real name, and for some reason he started to smile. Maybe his mum even called him Lucas, that would be a fail since on his brith certificate it probably says Luke Robert Hemmings, but you know, everyone makes mistakes. Just like his mum calling him Lucas.

My phone started to buzz agin. I picked it up and looked at it, I never get this many messages in one day.

'Hey Luke, can you proof read the project and then I'll drop it into our teacher early tomorrow. That sould get us some extra marks'

I told Luke sternly, he would never do what I say if I didn't tell him like that.

'O,ok sure.'

Luke replied nervously, maybe I took the telling Luke what to do sternly wasn't the best idea.

I picked up my phone and looked who the message was from. You would never have guessed who it was from. It was from Lily Williams, the Lily Williams.
