The following Monday night she allowed Bucky to come to her house after practice to do their English paper together cause that day he picked her to be his partner in English class. When they got out of school for the day he met her at her car and said "So um my dad will bring me by after practice if that's still ok."
"Yeah it's fine." she said
"Okay see you then." he said
He left and headed to practice and she went to pick up Everleigh from daycare she went home and cleaned her room and Everleigh's room and the kitchen. Stella came in and said "Baby what is wrong."
"AJ told me that my Biology partner Bucky likes me and that I should let him get to know me and stop being scared. So I took his advice and I told Bucky who picked me to be his partner for our English paper that's due next week that we could do it here at my house and I'm scared and nervous I cleaned my room her room the living room and now the kitchen. Why did I do that mom?' she said
"Baby.. it's okay just relax how much time do we have till he gets here cause I don't have anything for supper." Stella said
Dallas looked at her watch and said "An hour."
"Great..I'll be back." Stella said
Stella left and headed to the store and got something for dinner. Stella started to make steak and peppers with soy sauce. Bucky rang the door bell Dallas opened the door and he smiled and said "Hey Dallas."
"Hey come in." she said
She took him into the kitchen and he said "So this is what the rest of the house looks like."
She chuckled and said "Yeah. Bucky this is my mom Stella Sawyer and that's my dad Ryan."
"It's a pleasure to meet you both. AJ talks a lot about you both." Bucky said as he shook their hands.
"AJ says nothing but great things about you." Ryan said
"That's good." he said
Ryan looked at Dallas and she said "Okay um we are going to do our homework here."
She sat down with him at her kitchen table and they started to work on the English paper. Ryan got called to the hospital and had to go and Stella went to make sure Everleigh was alright and took the monitor with her.
She looked over at him and said "Bucky.. do you have anything you want to ask me."
"About the paper?' he said confused
"No.. um AJ and I talked over the weekend." she said
"Oh.. that um well I just um please don't be mad I just I like you I just I don't know how to get know you if you won't let me." he said
"I'm not mad I just .. it's a um really long story." She said
"Can I ask why you weren't at school last year? I mean I went through the yearbook to figure out why I didn't have any classes with you last year and you were no where to be found." he said
She looked down and a tiny tear got out and he said "Dallas.. what is it? I know it's something I was there I saw your brother punched Dylan screaming at him for doing something to you."
She closed her eyes and he said "Do you want me to hold your hand while you tell me?'
She looked at him and in whisper she said "Yeah."
He reached over and interlaced his fingers with her and he whispered "It's okay."
She wiped tears and said "The reason why I was not at school last year very long was because Dylan Mccord um he um he drugged me and beat me then raped me repeatedly while I was passed out and um I um I didn't want to go back to school so I had my aunt be my homeschool teacher and um. The reason why I'm allowed to drive to school as a sophomore is because I got pregnant with Dylan's baby cause he didn't use protection I was a virgin and he took that from me and um so I um I have a baby she's in daycare while I'm at school. That day I left early was because she had the flu and the daycare called me to come get her."
"Dallas.." he whispered with tears in his eyes.
She wiped tears and he said "Shh it's okay.. I now understand everything but what I don't understand is why your brother didn't warn you about Dylan even I knew as a freshmen what kind of guy he was. He would brag about it all the time in the locker room about how he was a cherry popper. How did AJ not know that."
She looked at him confused and said "What do you mean?"
"A cherry popper is a guy that only goes after virgins. If AJ was his best friend how did AJ not know that." he said
"I don't know." she said then she remembered how he got her to his house.
"He didn't even have time.. Dylan came up to me at lunch and asked for help on his English paper and took me home with him after school." she said
"No wonder AJ was so upset." Bucky said
Stella came down the stairs and said "Dallas baby." as she had Everleigh.
"Bucky this is my daughter Everleigh Nicole Sawyer." she said and said 'she's 4 months"
"She's beautiful Dallas..can I hold her?' he said
"Yeah.." she said
Bucky took her and held and whispered "Hey beautiful little darlin you look a lot like your mama."
Stella smiled and winked at Dallas.
"Mom do you have a bottle?" she said
"Yeah.." she said
Bucky gave Everleigh back to Dallas and said "But um why are you always late to Biology and Algebra and leave during lunch.
She leaned in his ear and said "Because I have to pump at school in the bathroom to get milk out for her."
"Oh.. okay..makes perfect sense now." he said as his face turned red.
Stella said "It's okay Bucky." as she started to make plates. Around 8 she took Bucky home and he said "Dallas.. um can I take you on a date sometime? I have my license I can drive my truck and um."
"Shh it's okay I'm not Sienna." she said
He smiled at her and said "I know I just didn't want you to feel like you have to drive me everywhere."
"I know." she said
"Um Dallas can I kiss you." he said
She swallowed hard and said "Yeah."
He leaned over her gear shift and cupped her cheek and kissed her lips and she started to kiss back and he pulled away a little bit and said "See you tomorrow morning."
"See you tomorrow morning.. you better be awake when I get here." she said
He smiled and said "I will be darlin. Good night." as he opened the door.
"Good night Bucky." She said as she waved.
He walked up his driveway as she put the car in reverse and drove back home.
