After our lunch, Mr. Nakamoto drove us back to Nayu Corp. I thanked him for lunch, and he thanked me for my accompany. As the elevator door opened out to the parking garage, Lucas came to sight, leaning against my (Mark's) Mercedes with his arms crossed, looking smug and rugged.

"Well, well, well... Isn't it Nakamoto Yuta's, soon-to-be, wifey?" He approached me, rubbing his hands together.

"Shut up, Lucas. Since when are we talking?" I fished the car keys out of my purse as I pushed past him.

"Ouch, that hurts. Am I not even allowed to tell my partner how much I'm... Impressed?"

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Not that I am surprised by your abilities at all!" He lifted his hand up in front of him.

"What are you doing here anyway? We're not supposed to be seen together." I pressed the remote control key, unlocking the car.

"Did you even read the groupchat? I was waiting for you." He stepped closer to me and I sighed annoyed.

"Is it weird that I kind of felt a little sting in my heart when Nakamoto complimented your eyes?"

How the hell does he know that? He can't know unless he was there or-

I tensed my jaw when the realization hit me, but tried not to show my shock. Since he apparently hadn't been sitting at our table, there was only one other option how he could've known about our conversation. He must've used a bugging device. And there was only one thing that I had with me, which he could've used: The phone Mark gave me.

Lucas tilted his head. His eyes were eagerly trying to read my reaction to his words. But I could already tell that that was how he worked: He sought reactions from people. I wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.

"Yes," I replied coldly. I got inside and started the car.

"Wait, don't you wanna know how I knew?" He asked irritated because I didn't seem curious enough for him.

I said, "Yeah, you hacked my phone, I'm aware of that."

"Actually your earrings," he corrected. As he said that, my hands found their way to the diamond pieces on my earlobes. "They have a tiny microphone inside, and that's how I could participate on your special date." He winked.

I had to think of everything I had said during my meeting with Mr. Nakamoto. Somehow, the thought of the meeting changed completely, because now I knew that Lucas had listened to everything and had been virtually present without being there for real. I wished I had been informed about it beforehand.

Oh God, then Lucas had even witnessed my breakdown in the restroom after seeing Taeyong again. But I shouldn't rush to things, I had to cool down: after all, it was not that Lucas could read my mind, right? He had heard only what was spoken out loud, nothing more. He hadn't seen anything, nor had he read my mind. Nevertheless, it was enough to hate him.

"Your heavy breathing was quite hot by the way. What did you do? Was it a mental breakdown or... something else maybe?" His left eyebrow rose.

"What?" I snapped and hated myself for doing this mistake. Reactions... it was all about reactions. A triumphant smile crept on his lips. He knew exactly what nerves he had to hit to get a reaction out of me. I had to be more careful.
