"....."

I just laid in bed, fucking terrified of what just happened to me.

"...Mabel?!"

I jumped up and grabbed my phone to call Mabel. She went home on her own last night. I was so stupid to let her do that! With all that shit that happened, I need to know if she's alright. The phones dial tone was filling the room, and then she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Mabel?! Are you alright!?"

"Yeah. You know it's like 2:00 in the morning? I have classes tomorrow."

"Yeah, I know, it's just that...."

I thought for a moment. If that talk I had with those guys were real, then they really are watching me.

"Nevermind..."

"So why the hell are you calling me at this time of the night?"

"I...was just wondering if you were ok..."

"Yeah. I'm fine. What's wrong?"

"I should've walked you home last night. I was stupid."

"Jeez, I'm fine, ok?"

"By the way, did you notice the blackout?"

"What blackout?"

"!?..."

"Well...you ok? Did the power go off where you're at?"

"Oh...no. I'm just...hallucinating, probably."

"Alrie, stoner guy."

"...Sorry. Well...goodnight, I guess."

"Yeah, goodnight."

I hung up the phone and just laid there in bed. I know I didn't just hallucinate that blackout. It really did happen.

"Aaaaargh! Fuck it!"

I can't get these thoughts out of my mind. The day has just been too weird.
------------------------------------

Next morning was a drag. I woke up at 11:46 am with laziness pulling me down to the floor. A sense of depression overwhelmed me, almost like I was in a position that I couldn't get out of. I kinda accepted the fact that I was trapped and being watched and was very careful about what I did. I just washed myself, got dressed, and moved on with my life. It was time for me to open the cafe early, really I wanted to open the cafe early; it was the only thing was getting my mind off of the stress and the whole situation.

"Just forget about it. It will be ok. It's not like anything is going to happen to me now, I have like a month."

As I stood there in front of the restaurant, collecting myself and gathering my thoughts back together, I took a deep breath and swiped my card on the door, unlocking it and opening the cafe. It wasn't long for people to start storming in and filling the cafe. I was pretty busy, and my mind quickly drifted from the dread I felt earlier.

" Hey, we're ready."

"Alright, I'll be just there."

"Can I get a refill?"

"Yeah, just a sec."

"Can we get a seat for four?"

"Yeah, right this way."

I was really busy actually. I can see how Mabel feels when she's by herself doing all of this. It's a bit stressful, but refreshing with all the work. It's been like 5 hours since I started working and the place started to get a bit bare. It was only four people left in the restaurant and they were all busy eating or goofing off on their phones. I took this time to just relax until I heard someone come into the door.
